Also, I just got word that there's several covid cases at the specialty hospital, and a lot of staff have had to quarantine. The entire internal medicine dept is shut down. Fingers crossed that I don't need them in the near future.

I am sorry to hear that about the local specialty hospital :(. Awful. Got fingers & toes crossed for you. Is there a back up....even if it’s a drive? I always like to have a Plan B (and C :smuggrin:).
 
I've definitely got alternatives. There's another ER that's actually closer to me, but when I first had to take him in for ketones their internist was out for 2 weeks so I ended up at this place. And there's another one not too far away. So for emergencies I have options. And my regular vet is still open. In fact, I was supposed to take Puck and Ariel for checkups today, but had to reschedule because my husband was in contact with someone positive on Tuesday (with masks and distancing) and now we're also quarantining!
 
Pretty well stocked there... we're been buying double every week. And I'm well stocked for kitty supplies (pretty much everything is online anyways). Actually, I should double check that in case I'm out of commission for a while or something.
 
Yes. I have my stockpile of cat meds and food :).
Let’s hope you aren’t out of commission but definitely a smart thing to do to be 100% safe.

Ketones are staying low, despite the high BG for the past couple of days. So that's nice. Seems like BG is also slowly working its way down again, but we'll see what happens with no R this evening. Lantus now at 8.5 U.

You've both made me think. :)I'm going to see if I can get early refills of Butters' meds to have on hand, just in case. Glad you have other IM alternatives if he needs one. Thank goodness there were masks and social distancing involved for your husband. I hope you all stay healthy :bighug:
 
I was already stocking up a bit in case of covid or winter weather or election-related disruptions... just didn't think the disruption would be quite so close to home!

Climbing back up at +2... I know the rule is supposed to be no R during the first cycle of a dose, but I'm getting tempted to ignore it. Hmm.

Ugh on the vet clinic. :( They are running so busy here too.

Weather forecasters muttering something about the white stuff here too. Way too early in the season and yet another reason to stock up.
