Hello,

I don't know if Binie is still bouncing: another day in pink, at the moment we see a little bit of yellow but I think again no blue today.

Eating is a bit more difficult and I have to motivate her. She is sleeping a lot. Thank god ketones are o.k., today 0.1 mmol/dl at +3 am.

Looks like we will go up again on Saturday.

Hope everyone has a relaxed and calm day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi, Heike,
I’m sorry to hear Binie isn’t too interested in eating. I’m sure you are doing a good job of encouraging her as best you can.

Hopefully she will give you another cycle soon with some blue numbers. And if not, like you said, you can always try a slight increase when you are able to monitor closely.
How’s her tummy and her poops? I hope she’s doing OK with the meds. :bighug:
Sending you both lots of hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,
thank you for the hugs and for checking on us! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Yes, I do my best to make the food attractive. The main hack is to give her the 10 % paté. She likes it so much more than the 5 % wet food. Then I do my best to make it as appetizing as possible: Freeze dried chicken as topping, warming it, this flavourful cat soup as topping, sitting next to her and encourage her to eat. Besides encouraging her to eat I feel I have to spoil and love her as much as possible. I know we are walking on thin ice now.

Her poop was again a bit softer in the morning but I decided that this is better than constipation, so now psyllihum husk. I just don't feel very confident about the dosing. Healing earth was easier, that does not constipate.

And again, we have a pink day today. :( Seems she wants an increase.

And the libre is somehow wonky. Do you also have libres with lots of "sensor error" messages? It seems to measure right, because always when I compare with the handheld they are close. I chose another place this time, because I thought the skin wouldn't fold as much but that was a mistake. Try and error.....

I send you hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I think I get the sensor error usually when the glucose is rising or falling quickly and the sensor can’t keep up.

Or, I’ve noticed when she’s very, low for extended periods of time it stops reading sometimes for up to a couple hours. And then sometimes that’s when it stops working after several hours of her being very low. :banghead:
That’s what happened Wednesday morning after several hours overnight of not reading. I was sort of holding my breath, waiting for it to shut down. It’s sad that I’ve come to be able to predict that that’s probably what’s going to happen.

i’m so glad to hear that at least she is responsive to your different food hacks. And I think it’s OK if she’s eating the 10% especially when it’s very critical that she eats. I think even Wendy mentioned “just get her to eat” and 10% is still considered low-carb so try not to stress over it too much. It’s best she eats something and if it’s 10% that’s fine.

I use the psyllium husk mixed in with every meal I use about 2 1/2 pinches with each meal. Luckily it doesn’t make Ivy constipated, but I keep a very close eye on things of course. As long as you are monitoring and you know how it seems to affect Binie, that’s the best thing you can do.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me! Sounds like the sensor works on Ivy how it should be. I just wonder, why some sensors give me errors all the time while others do it maybe once a day. Maybe my placement is still not ideal. So odd, that the sensor dies if Ivy is low. That must be so stressful, to install a new one in these situations. I will never forget how you rushed home from the hairdresser.... :rolleyes:

Yes, it was a big relieve when I heard, that 10 % is technically still low carb. Hopefully, that can also help me to switch her to wet food completely.

Ah, you give it with every meal! Good to know. Thank you! Maybe I was a little too careful. Besides helping with the diarrhea it seems to be a powerful prebiotic. So valuable for the gut health. And I think Binies gut needs some help, after all these antibiotics. So good, you do that for Ivy!

So far it looks like you can go out tonight. I hope she decides to do her signature dip another day.

So I hope you have a nice evening out today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

yep that was a crazy day at the hairdresser. I couldn’t wait for her to finish so I could fly home as fast as possible :facepalm:

I am so wonder why some of them seem to give more our messages than others. I’m not really sure either. Also, I do know that if Ivy wanders away from her phone and it can’t read the sensor and it also gives a sensor error for that. I’m sure you’ve experienced that as well when Binie goes outside of the range of the sensor.

So many factors to consider ;)

I’ve been giving the psyllium husk to Ivy for several years. No problems with giving it right in her food.

We did go to dinner tonight and Ivy was a good girl and surfed in yellow (with the help of 12% carbs).
Bed time for me now. 5:30 am comes fast!!
Good night :bighug::bighug::bighug:
