Yesterday Butters broke her bounce, but not for long. She barely stayed green, and then went from 88 to 428 in six hours. I don't get it. Last time she managed to stay in greens and blues for two full cycles before bouncing, on 10/25. Her bounces are getting worse.

Otherwise, same old same old. She seems to be in less pain today, though.

Have a good day.

I think the pain must have contributed to the bounce. I’m glad she appears to be in less pain. I could never tell with Max. Is she continuing to eat well and want to cuddle? :bighug: I know how hard this is for you and wish I could make her better faster.

Thank you:bighug: It is hard. I know you understand. I'm lucky I have been able to pick up on some signs, and I have been trying to use the feline pain scales that Amy posted the other day. I think she cuddles more when she is feeling good. Lots of cuddles this morning. She is still eating well today, too.

Yes, I think she's still dealing with a lot - pancreatitis takes time to overcome. Poor baby. Tell her that we love her and send her well wishes and lots of scritches. Hope she start to feel better soon.

:bighug:

Always love to see the words “eating” and “cuddles”:bighug:. Happy it sounds like a better day for Butters. I think it may be time for the wine and homemade ice cream :bighug:

Butters needs to adjust again too, it doesn’t take long for their little bodies to become accustomed to high numbers again. She’ll remember how much better it is in the lower ones again soon :D

I'm sorry her numbers are all over. That's gotta be frustrating. I'm glad she's still eating well and cuddling. Knowing you had her so tightly regulated before her pancreatitis, I'm sure she'll get back to that point. It's just gonna take a little time for her to adjust. She's been through alot. Hope you have a good night, with lots of Butters cuddles. :bighug:

It is frustrating for sure:). Too much to really think about. I do hope she soon remembers that life was so much better in lower numbers.
In the meantime, wine was had. I drank. Butters watched.

And now a short story: Today, after reading their website, I tried connecting with the cat clinic that @Tomlin came across and mentioned in my thread yesterday. I left a message and submitted an inquiry through their website first thing this morning. Tonight I get a random email from "reception" at the Cat Clinic. The subject of the email is a proper noun that I do not recognize. I open the email and find an empty message body with a PDF attached to it. So I open the PDF and it is one of their patient's health records for the past year, o_Ocomplete with the human's name/address/phone #s. It was the cat's name that was the subject of the email.

I was very confused (and also nosy...and, well, confused) so I read through the PDF and it turns out the cat has DM, just like all of our cats! Go figure. There are a lot of staff updates in the record such as "this cat should be on DM wet and dry food". Then, "PLEASE GET THIS CAT ON TO DM CANNED AND DRY". :eek:You get the idea. And there is a BG curve. Looks like this cat is bouncing too.:p That's neither here nor there, I suppose.

So I'm wondering...do you think maybe they sent it to me "accidentally" (but like, on purpose), as proof that they have experience with cats who have DM? That wouldn't be very professional, I don't think. Or was this an honest mistake? I don't even know anymore. What if I bring butters in and they mix her up with another cat? :( Why can't anything be straightforward.

So is there maybe a small chance that Butters is breaking this bounce? This cycle is starting similar to the 10/26 PM one, which was bounce breaking. Don't wanna get my hopes up too much. She'll only disappoint me in the end.

She continues to have a good day, though. Paws crossed it continues overnight.

Neither scenario inspires confidence, does it? In either case I would expect at least some sort of text in the body of the email along the lines of "attached is ___ in response to your request for ____."

I think you need to put them on notice that unredacted client personal information was forwarded to a stranger off the internet. If it were me, I'd respond to their email with something like, "What? Is this intended to respond to my inquiry of x date/time, or was this sent to me in error?" I'm curious to know how they respond.

Definitely does not inspire confidence, however, only a call and discussion with the vet in charge of the clinic will allow you to know for sure whether the clinic is a potential option or not. I don’t think they sent it on purpose. If I was a business owner or management I would want to know it happened (if you are up to the call). Even with the note of the DM food, only having a direct discussion with a vet allows you to know for sure what their thoughts/opinions are with you and your cat. They may be pro DM but open to other food or they may not be open to options....again, only a discussion directly with a vet enables you to know for sure :)

I think sending the file was an error but with what you read I would not pursue that clinic. It also makes me wonder if the owner of the other cat had asked for the records because he/she was changing to another practice.
