I must say, when I saw a 300 number this morning (and last night), I was thankful for the break from constant testing and juggling the carbs in the food for my Gideon Blue. I knew we would have a few hours where he could just be a normal cat without being poked and given tablespoons of food at a time. I also got to sleep last night! Don't get me wrong, I want him to stabilize, but it is very stressful for me, and I am sure for precious Gideon too. We are now in the BLUE after 3 hours. The drop was 150 over the last three hours. Insulin is probably starting to kick in now. I will feed 9% carb food to prevent a sudden decline in BG.

It’s definitely hard on you and worse with your work schedule. The issue now is that the sudden drops can also trigger a bounce. I think his insulin is kicking in before +3. :bighug:

You are correct....since he is dropping significantly within the first 3 hours, the insulin must be hitting earlier than I thought.
I am working tonight and tomorrow night.
We are slowly changing the timing of Gideon's insulin by 15 minutes in order to get it adjusted for Sunday night for the time change.

Husband will test at +3, and then one more time during night. Will leave out Nulo 8% carb food, along with the other LC food.
If he is low at +3 or when my husband tests, he will feed 12% carb food.
Have a good night all!
