Still bouncy, I see.
It just takes so darn long to clear the bounce after a good run - really test your patience!
Hang in there Staci. She'll come down!
:bighug::bighug::bighug:
She is sooo bouncy Kit. But she breaks bounces very fast so I think that’s a good thing.
She’s starting a drop now.
Hope you and Mikan have a good surf today ! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Pmps 216 (Libre)
Very flat yellow am cycle today. She scared the #%*+ out of me at pmps she puked up some fur. Hopefully wasn’t any big deal. Just didn’t want her vomiting right before the shot.

Then she started a drop right after her shot. But at the moment is heading up a little. It’s so early in her cycle so who knows where she’s headed.

*Oh, I switched all her meals & snacks tonight to the lower 9.25% carb lamb recipe. Everything crossed that she does well on this level of carbs to insulin.

@Angela & Cleo you should be happy, the experiment is in play. :bookworm:

Come down easy, Miss Ivy! :bighug:

What is the carb percentage that Ivy eats? Are you still lowering down, Staci?
I’ve been slowly lowering her down to 9.25% (she had been eating12.5%).
I just changed the remaining +1,2,3 snacks she eats to the lower 9.25% this pm cycle.

It just so happens she’s breaking a bounce so extra momentum going on :banghead:
I used to feed her only 6% from the time she was diagnosed last Fall, until late June 2023. Then we tried 12.5% to see if she would do better on a higher carb.

She was not carb sensitive on the 6%. If she would drop, the 6% wouldn’t stop her dropping at all.

So here we are, trying to lower the carbs again to see how it goes… ;)

You could feed her 6% or less, and use the 9% or 12.5% when she goes very low, maybe she would do better?
We are going to work to slowly transition her back to the 6% again, but we have been slowly working our way down the carb ladder. Didn’t want to do it too suddenly.
She eats a homemade diet. The lowest carb recipe I have is 6%. We will see how she does for a little bit on the 9.25% then probably start the transition again.
I spend a lot of time making different carb recipe food.
You should see my freezer. It’s half full of Ivy food!

I can imagine. I buy locally made raw food for Bella and she has a good part of our freezer as well.
Which recipes do you use? That’s a huge commitment to make food, you are impressive!
I was saying that because that’s what I was advised to do when I joined here, and it makes sense, if you think about it.

I hired a veterinarian /nutritionist to analyze her conditions and formulate the recipe (originally it was to address her kidney disease, then we changed it when we added DM to the mix). I’ve been cooking for over 5 years. I’m so used to it now it doesn’t phase me.

I just dislike working with the lamb. It’s very time consuming since it has so much fat running through it. I have to cut it down and pull off the fat before I cook. It takes several hours.

That’s great that you can find Raw made locally. I’m sure that’s a great option.
