She ate some turkey Temptations and some DM kibble by herself overnight. This morning she ate about another 1/3 of the can of FF Medley's white meat chicken fare. Since she hadn't had any food for almost 2 entire days, I am glad she is eating only little portions to start off. Eating too much right away would just make her stomach upset.

Should hear from the specialist about her slightly dislocated ulna bone and about the results of her blood work today.

Just spoke with the vet. The specialist said that we should leave the ulna bone alone and as the inflammation goes down, it will probably move back into place. He said the tendons around the bone are probably weaker because of the diabetes, so even if they physically move it back into place, it would probably slide over again.

Her blood work showed elevated kidney level, but not a lot so it could be off because of the injury. The vet wants to wait until next week when she is feeling better and eating better and then do another blood test as well as a urine test.

He is going to give me some anti nausea medication this afternoon. She has since eaten the rest of the can of the FF Medley's white meat chicken fare and has drank some more water.

It’s good that she’s eating and I’m glad surgery won’t be needed. The medication for nausea should be cerenia or ondansetron. Don’t accept Reglan (metoclopramide) as it works for dogs but not cats. It’s good to have in hand but might not be needed since she is starting to eat.

The vet gave me cerenia. How long should it take to kick in? I gave her one 2 hours ago and she still only ate a few bites of food. Unfortunately, she will only eat the MC food, not her low carb.

Ondansetron is a human RX nausea medication that works really well for cats. Cerenia works in a different way and often works best for vomiting.
I'll tag
@tiffmaxee and see what she thinks

It should be working by now if it’s going to work. What dose and how much dies he weigh? I used ondansetron mostly as it seemed to work better for nausea. The nausea may be going away and she’s aversive to the lc because she was nauseous when she ate it. It could be the dose of cerenia is too small. That happens a lot. For some ondansetron works better. Tge6 work in different ways as Diane said. Ondansetron is dosed as often as every 8 hours but cerenia is every 24.

I think she is going to need insulin, possibly a token dose until her appetite is restored.

I see you said in your previous post they gave buprenorphine for pain
and said
Buprenorphine. She is still limping, even with the pain killer.
Is she still limping

She is getting 8 mg every 24 hours. After two days of not eating, she is down to 6.9 lbs now. In July she was 8.5. :(

That’s actually a big dose for her size. That’s too much weight to lose that fast. I would call your vet tomorrow. Cats that lose weight very fast can get hepatic lipidosis fatty liver) which is very serious. It sounds like the bupe wore off. She might need some oral for home. Maybe ask for ondansetron and possibly cyproheptadine as an appetite stimulant since it can be given as needed twice a day. Do you think she’s dehydrated from not eating?
