11-1 TYLER AMPS-77/74+3.5/86+9/PMPS-107/74+2.75/68+6.75

Hi Guys only posting this in case I go missing in action for a few days. My dad has Alzheimers. He is in the hospital right now.He knows who we are, it's been more of forgetting things, some confusion, but it's not that bad.He lives with my sister.
The last couple of days he has been very lethargic, more confused, peeing
in the bed a little, going in the bowl, but may not make it to the bathroom so some comes out, very very tired.

My sister and her husband have been up with him since 4 AM cleaning up.
I called the primary this afternoon and told him what's been going on and even called the neurologist and the neurologist said no way would it be the Alzheimer's causing this. he was ok on Tuesday and then all of a sudden go down hill that much on Wed from Alzheimer's. No
He is aware of everything that's happening to him and it breaks my heart

I called our primary said take him to the ER.we called the ambulance so he wouldn't have to
sit in the waiting room.

Did a cat scan and sure enough he had a stroke.
Most likely in the past week. Not one sign that he could have had a stroke.
He's talking fine,
He's admitted and they are doing an MRI for more details

Tomorrow will make calls to medicaid , I have the form to fill out but have questions.
We found a nice nursing home, my sisters friend had her dad in this one.

It's privately owned but they do take medicare/medicaid.
At least it's not state owned. Sisters friend said they took very good care of her dad.

What happens is the nursing home will use the money first he has in his checking
and when that runs out medicaid will kick in.

So I have to get the form filled out tomorrow and make copies of everything medicaid wants and mail it in ASAP.
When I called them once they don't know what the hell they were talking about.
Never told me this about nursing homes using his money first.

If I get a moron on the phone tomorrow about questions I have about filling the
form out , I am going to lose it and tell them to have a supervisor call me ASAP

Plus we have to call this nursing home and see if they have a room available
We can't go see my dad until he gets tested for Covid, then we can go to the
hospital in 2 days, only one person at a time in the room.

Will try to explain to him he has to go, he can't even dress himself
He knows that something is wrong with him and it's heartbreaking.

That we can't care for him at home. Maybe in the home I think his mind will be
more stimulated around people and even make some friends.

So I will talk to his primary and see how bad the stroke was on the MRI
This has been the worst month, and year for me and my family.
My daughter is so upset, he is like a father to her and all he does is worry about her
and the damn disease she has for 15 years already. I have posted about her on here before.

So in case I don't check in that often until we get things taken care of I just wanted
to let you guys know why.
Just called the hospital and he still isn't in a room yet!

The covid cases has risen here and if it continues it will be lock down again
I'll check back later ♥:bighug:

Hugs Diane :bighug::bighug::bighug: That sure is a lot on your plate. Sending lots of love and healing.

When you talk to those various folks - Medicare/Meidcaid, Nursing Homes, Doctors/Nurses - try to get their names and IDs. That will help you in keeping things straight if you get different answers from people (thinking particularly the Medicare/Medicaid folks).

Wish I could look after Tyler for you to help out. Hang in there :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's a great suggestion, Susanne, thank you, I definitely will.
I just can't lose my temper with them lol
It's going to take all I have not to
So sweet of you about Tyler ♥:bighug::bighug:
Will let you know how I make out tomorrow .I hope you have a good night

I feed Tyler @+11 , which I knew better not to, hopefully thats why his PMPS was 107.
After doing so good today all greens again, I had to go screw it up.
He just wouldn't shut up, kept biting my ankle, so I said to him, here you want to
eat now go ahead. I swear this is the last time he's going to get food 2 hours
before his PMPS test. I'll lock him in a room if I have to :p

O
Hugs and prayers, Diane. Hoping for the best possible outcome for your dad.:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Morning Lyla, thanks so much, will be heading down to my sisters to start making
the phone calls , I have a bottle is Excedrin ready to go lol

Make tons of copies , go to the bank and get the last 5 years of his bank statements.
Then come back home and test and feed Tyler.

Anything else ha ha
I've been calling thru the night to the nurses station to see how he is.
Said very quiet, not like him at all, he's always been a jokester

He must be so scared, that's all I keep thinking.
Have to tell them to read him the food menu and ask him what he wants, I hope he
understands..I can't even bring him food yet or snacks.

I hope Butters is doing ok , I'll check back later :bighug::bighug:
