Yesterday's Condo Have a good day everyone. I have to prep for a 7 a.m. meeting. Back to work as usual
Is she eating the food with tylan on it?I was given that for Max when I first got him as a kitten and he had a bacterial infection. He would not eat! We had to switch to metronizadole. I hope the shot works and she feels better soon.
The vet just called with the labs - says Luci is hyperthyroid. Her number was 14, should be 1...so we're getting a prescription from the compounding pharmacy for a transdermal cream - to apply to the inside of her ears - which should work with our AM and PM pre-shot tests - just another little thing to do... And that's why she's been losing weight... I just hope this fixes her diarrhea too @tiffmaxee - she kinda sorts eats around it - I've started using Forte Flora twice a day in hopes that will help - it was recommended by the vet who put the first cast on her leg last year - so we'll see. So far today, I've not seen any improvement on that front. I will keep using the Tylan but I can't force her to eat it...
I'm sorry about the hyper-t diagnosis, but at least it's something that can be treated. Don't forget you'll need to wear gloves when you put the transdermal cream on her ear.
Glad you found out what the problem was, I'm sure she will be fine and will start to put some weight back on
Tripper started on it. The biggest very common side effect is gi upset. Marje suggested I start at 1/2 dose and work up. using the liquid made that easy. But Trip vomits every other day still. So vet said to stop for 48 hrs and then try once a day. So will see what happens.
