I need to leave the house for about an hour. With these huge drops, is it safe? Never mind. I just gave her a few tsps of medium carb (11%). I hope this was the right thing to do. Figured she was going to keep dropping. Every situation is just different.

I realize this was a silly question because nobody knows what's going to happen but thoughts are always helpful.

She is at 111 after 30 minutes. I am not afraid of 60's and 70's, she's been there before. It's the big drops that scare me. I know 50 is the act number, maybe I should have waited, I don't know.

She's at 124@+6 so I guess I can leave for an hour.;):cat::)

It’s always better to overcarb than under if you need to go out or sleep. I can’t easily tell from your notes if I would’ve done something different. Some of your feeding notes are in actual times instead of + times which means nothing to anyone except you. If you keep notes in + times of what you do when you’ll have a nice history to look back at and see what works, what doesn’t and why you did it - I would add to today’s note that you did that because you were going out.

You can add the +5.5 to her spreadsheet too, just put it under the 77 and then manually fill the cell in green.

I might have given some LC or MC at +2 to head off the steep drop, especially if I knew I was going out later. Because the 124 is food influenced you may find she’s turned around and come back down when you get home so I might have given her a little more just before leaving too - though I’m sure she’ll be just fine :cat:

Thanks for all of the suggestions. She grazes on lc so it's always available except times when I want her to eat mc or hc. I don't know about other cat moms or dads but when there is a very low number I barely have time to think let alone keep my notes up. Last night was the first time in days that I got some sleep. I know we all have our personal stories and life situations. I also have a notebook that I keep with everything Dolly related, have forever. My memory is terrible. I just want to add that when Dolly is in the middle of a low number "event" and I have to test her more often, I feel more like her nurse than her mom and it makes me sad (especially because she is such a trouper). Thank you so much for the advice and support.:)

I guess we are bouncing again, is this common? I desperately need to get some sleep but first need to know how often I need to check her to keep her safe (if that can even be answered?)

Have a look at her spreadsheet - she’s never gone from blue at PS to yellow and then dropped. She’ll be safe tonight. So stop worrying and get a good night’s sleep - and that’s an order :p
