I'll be glad when the results of the culture come back because I'm simply not convinced KD is making her not want to eat. It was so nice seeing her eat on her own after the return from the vet. I thought it was the gel doing it, but about 12 hours later she stopped wanting to eat again and when I gave the gel this morning it's had no effect on her at all. I would think she'd still be hydrated enough from yesterday's fluids. She hasn't drank much at all since the fluids, but I know that's normal. So why won't she eat. Force feeding her is keeping her so upset.
I need to get away for a few hours and reboot...time to hit the road...
 
Have you tried pouring some water from a can of tuna on top of her food? Sometimes, they will eat baby food meats like Gerber chicken or beef. I hope she feels better soon.
 
Is the appy stim gel the one called Miritaz? It only last 9 hours in the cat. Did you get any anti nausea meds from the vet? Or tried something like SEB?

Hope you had a good reboot today. Sometimes we just need to step away from the house. :bighug:

Yes, that's the gel they gave me day before Thanksgiving but I used it for 3 days without effect. Doc told me today to go back to using it as maybe Olive needs it to build up in her system a bit. I told her I was nervous to keep using something that obviously wasn't helping especially due to one of the side effects being damaging to kidneys when she's got the start of KD. She assured me it was safe, but I don't trust that. It would be one thing if I noticed a marked improvement by using it, but there was nothing. She was going to give a nausea med today until the FPLI test came back negative.
