Yesterday Good morning ❤️ Decided to get in a few tests when overnight feed and got the 130 at +7 and 68 at +10.....let us see where we be at AMPS . Sending hugs and prayers to all in need.
Beth, I'll post my advice here too so others can see and comment. I see Elmo is keeping you on your toes. If he doesn't drop any more and you can monitor today, you should be able to shoot. Maybe feed him some MC for his meal. I'm heading to work. I'll try to check in today.
@MrWorfMen's Mom @Nan & Amber (GA) @carfurby @Red & Rover (GA) Thots on shot ....not feeding and will take another test before food in 30 minutes. Carla had suggested feeding MC for morning meal ...liking that idea ... I have a doctor appointment at + 5..... last small snack was at 5:30-6 ish( + 10)
I see Elmo is on the roller coaster again. I think if he's steady or rising you can give him the 1u and feed him MC for his morning meal to give him that extra boost early. Then I'd get a +1 and see if he's up a bit or just holding.
I will test right before his shot here in 15 minutes ... have MC 14 that he loves...he will be ever indebted to you snd Carla for that instruction
For a pre-shot meal, I'd give him a few tsps. at least. I know he's not a big eater so with Elmo, letting him eat his fill is probably fine.
High low Elmo!! You be safe little buddy - you keep surprising me! Beth - hope all goes smoothly and you don't worry about your boy while taking care of yourself We will be watching
Jan He sure is a case study for sure Back in the day he was called The Cat Who Smelled Lantus....was ready to switch fro vetsulin to Lantus and he went into remission without a drop Cheeky cat
LC is fine as long as he isn't dropping. If he's dropping, since you're going out, I think a little more MC might be a good idea.
@Bron and Sheba (GA) Hey,Bron Have an idea want to run past you as former bouncy kitty Momma❤️ Elmo is bouncing hard during day cycle cos is dipping low at night. My thot for tonight is to do what I did last night and that’s Test when he wakes me to eat but try feeding 14 MC at those feeds to hopefully slow the drop and maybe take a bite out of tomorrow AM possible bounce ??? Your thoughts born of experience with beautiful bouncy Sheba ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have decided to experiment by leaving down a bit of 14 MC before I go to bed.....when he wakes me ( usually twice a night ) I will again give 1 t ish MC14 instead if LC2 .....let us see if my diabolical plan bares good fruit
What I found worked best for Sheba with the bouncing was to try and stop the drops. The best way to do this is to catch the drop before it happens. Once you have the first big drop in the cycle, it is probably too late. Elmo needs to get used to low numbers again and until he does, he will keep bouncing. What I did with Sheba when I was trying to stop the drops....and I couldn't do it all the time because it was very time consuming, but once I had started I tried to keep going with it. To try and get ahead of the drop I got a +1 …...if there was no food spike here, then it was most likely going to be an active cycle..and then get a +2 and evaluate. If there was any sign of a drop I would feed her and depending on how much of a drop....I would vary the carbs. I tried to ease her down slowly with no more than 50 points an hour max. Then hopefully the next cycle, the preshot would be a bit lower and do the same thing..test +1 etc. and keep doing that until all the numbers are hopefully lower. At one point I managed to keep Sheba in greens for a fortnight before she broke out and bounced again. Its worth a try....it may work. It will be a bit of trial and error at first You know what carbs work for Elmo. You don't want to stop the drop, just slow it down from the beginning so he has no excuse to bounce.
