I received a call from the specialist vet today to make an appointment! We are booked in for the 2nd of February. Just a few more weeks :D They were able to fit us in on the 19th but I'm working and there is no way I would have been able to do a shift swap. But I'm so relieved that we are booked in, I thought it would have taken a couple of months at least! They said they wanted Mo fasted for the appointment but given it's at 10am and he has his insulin at 7.30am, I said that would be a problem. They're making an exception thankfully :)

So yesterday the vet shaved part of Mo's scruff so we can see where we are injecting to rule out that we may be doing it wrong. Tim did 4 units last night (a reduction just in case we were doing it wrong this whole time and 8 units would have been too much o_O) and his BGLs are going up and up. Good to know we have been injecting correctly this whole time. I knew we were.

We've had no purrs from him for a couple of days. That makes me sad. He used to be such a loud purrer. I miss his cuddles. He would ALWAYS come cuddle me on the couch. Hopefully I get that boy back soon.

Have a wonderful day :bighug:

Good to hear you are now confident on your shooting technique again. :bighug: I too figured you'd been doing it right, especially after this amount of time.

And yeah for a date with the specialist! It's always good to remind people when they say "fast the cat", that they are diabetic. Sometimes the front desk staff forget to take that into considertion. Mo will be happier with that too.

A vet visit day followed by being short on his insulin, hopefully with that all over the purrs will return soon.

Thanks everyone!!! I am feeling really hopeful that we will get him feeling better soon :)

Thanks Wendy! I'm pretty confident that we are injecting correctly. At least that is ruled out now.

Mo is definitely not a fan of fasting. His daddy has just given him a little chicken snack so he's feeling very chuffed with himself. AND he caught a bird earlier today :( ugh. He must be hungry.

Aaaaaaand he caught another bird this evening. We have lived in this house for 8 months and he struggles to catch a moth and then suddenly gets 2 birds in one day. Golly Mo!!! :nailbiting:

+2.5 430. Putting that down to us having to be whacky with his insulin as mentioned above. That and the birds o_O

This is such great news! Happy for you and Mo. :cat:
Thanks Lina!! :)

Oh Mo.... poor birds...better watch out...got a killer on the loose there. I used to have a civvie that was a killer too...I felt badly for the birds...not so much for the other rodents she used to catch...but there was no controlling her...occasionally I'd catch her in the act and go and take the bird away from her...before...well, you know...before she finished the poor creature off...she never really learned about why I'd do that...

I do hope Mo finds his purr again soon...and so happy you've got an appointment with the specialist! Hope you get to the root of what's going on with Mr. Mo.

Have a wonderful day from one Tux mom to another!!
