12-12 TYLER AMPS-79/77+3.5/PMPS-99/79+2.25/74+4

Nice work Tyler :D

How's your dad doing? Hope you all have a good weekend :bighug:
Morning Susanne thanks for asking. We talk to him on the phone, one day he
will carry on a conversation as if nothing ever happened. The next day just a little
confused . The nurses and aids are very good with him.

We face time him also
I told the doctor that I could see he was down, they put him on Lexpro 5 mg
Now just increased to 10 mg
He'll still ask when he can come home, so we just keep telling him you have
to get stronger. Then he will say yeah I know.

He said the food sucks sometimes, but who knows .My sister will pick out
things he likes.
Ashley talked to him yesterday for the first time since 10-6
He was so happy to hear her voice.
She asked him if his roommate came back into their room, because the guy had
a stroke. My dad said to Ashley he's old I don't think he'll be around too much longer lol
I said dad you are 87 so you don't think you're old, he said nope lol

All he cares about his Ashley, that's it. He's like a father to her.
She calls him pop.
She started crying after the call, I told her that their is no way we could have brought him home after he had the mini stroke. He needs help with showering, sometimes getting dressed, other things. My sister just couldn't do it
He lived with her before all this happened.

I wish we could visit but not yet.
My brother works about 5 minutes from the place, we bought him a lot of goodies and my brother will drop them off today.

It really sucks, you get old and look what happens.
If I ever get to the point where I need to be put in a nursing home, forget about it
No way in hell. If you know what I mean

Ashely, I don't know how much longer she can put up with this friggen disease,
16 years already. The pain is relentless.
Well Susanne aren't you glad you asked lol
Have a good day, I'm headed over to check in on Jax ♥:bighug::bighug::cat:

Nice start for Tyler. I think you can try the reduction tomorrow morning if you want to. Sorry things are so rough for your dad. Sending prayers for your dad and Ashley. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Morning Carla , I think I will try the reduction tomorrow morning Carla, the worse that could happen if it doesn't hold I'll just go back up to the 0.75 correct?
Thanks for the prayers for my dad and Ashley, I appreciate it.
Have a nice day Carla ♥♥:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I love hearing your family update - so crazy (or is it?) how much we care about others we haven't met? Always thinking of you all and admire your grace. Life truly sucks sometimes but, as I've taught my kids a little too well :p, it is what is so it's up to us to live it. Also that's so sweet Ashely calls your dad Pop <3 my dad is Pop-Pop to our kids.

I care about all of you more than people I have met , more than some so called friends I have, I don't even bother anymore trying to explain Ashley's condition.
They just don't get it when I tell them things she can't do and things that put her in pain, normal things that we can do , but she can't, or that even a breeze puts her in pain. So I don't even bother anymore , I tell them if you don't believe me than friggin
look it up.
I don't need friends like that, I choose to avoid telling them things anymoy
because if I loose my temper it's not going to be a pretty site.

She called him pop from day one. Nice to hear your kids call your dad Pop Pop

Something funny, my dad was from Newark, N.J.
A tough neighborhood.
Today they asked him if he would like to go in the rec room and make Christmas
Decorations for the rooms. He said. no thanks.
I laughed so hard when the nurse told me this.
I said now if you had a crap table, or a poker game going on then he would definitely do that lol.
Then later on he said to the nurse I hope I didn't offend you because I didn't want to do that
The nurse said no not at all. Nurse said to me I just asked him so he could get out of his
room, a change of scenery.
My father is a real character.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:Oh Diane! Your story reminds me of when we put my grandmother in a home. She cried every single day to go home. Every single one. Hugs to you. I know it's so hard.
Hi Katherine, getting old really sucks sometimes. The worst part is the Alzheimer's isn't that bad. Most of the time he can carry on a normal conversation with you.
Like yesterday he asked me if I was keeping up taking care of my car.
Asks me if I'm going to my doctor spots
If I heed any money , it's at my sisters house , that's you he lived with , he told me where he his it lol.
And asks about Tyler.
If it wasn't for the mini stroke he would still be living with my sister.
Now she feels like we jumped the gum putting him there long term.
Maybe we should have just put him there for the rehabilitation and then see what
happened.
He needs help with dressing a little, help taking a shower. Walking pretty good now.
Last night he said to my sister I don't belong here.
Broke my dam heart.
If Ashley wasn't as sick as she is , I would have taken him .

It really sucks , can't wait until they allow us to visit
But then seeing him might make me feel even more sad.
We shall see. ♥♥:bighug::bighug:

Don't suppose there is a way your dad could sit at a first floor window, and you could play poker hands together through the glass? Probably not realistic, but that is my wish for you and your dad.

Hi Deb I wish we could , he's on the third floor and that's where they have to stay, but I appreciate it and your thoughtful wish ♥♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

yup this - my hubby asks when we're all going on a trip lol :p wouldn't that be hilarious - a bunch of beans, insulin, and cats :p

My father is a real character.
He sure sounds like it :joyful: Glad he still has his wit.

Maybe post-coivd...whenever that is...your dad may enjoy his living quarters more. My grandmother had a blast at hers (though I know that's not the case for everyone...she was a social butterfly too and thought it was just great that all of her friends were all under the same roof lol).

I see Tyler squeaked in his PMPS ;) easy does it, Tyler :cat:

Have a good night Diane :bighug:
