Billo vomited the clear liquid again today around +4, twice in one hour. It was a little unexpected though, it had been almost ~20 hours since I had given her ondansetron. I followed up with giving her the cerenia pill and ondansetron shortly after.

I hope its nothing too serious and it's just her pancreatitis flaring, I also gave her the bupe so hopefully that helps with any pain.

just clear liquid? When had you fed her? Was it foamy at all? How does she seem otherwise? Is she eating okay?

I don't know if this is at all what it is, but with pancreatitis, small frequent meals are important. Are you doing that? I feed Butters at least four times per cycle, basically every 3 hours around the clock. In the past she would occasionally vomit when I wasn't doing this, but I think it was more foamy.

How often are you supposed to be giving her ondansetron? Cerenia? Are you still giving her both regularly?

Yes, it was just clear liquid, however it wasn't all that foamy today. She has been eating well and has been active, as she usually is and I feed Billo every 2-2.5 hours per cycle. She seems to be eating and acting fine otherwise, so I'm a little confused too as to what could have been the reason behind the nausea this afternoon.

I was told by the vet to give cerenia daily and the ondansetron as needed. I've kept up with that. It has been a little bit of a challenge with ondansetron because I had to monitor her at first and see when she feels nausea. I found that if I give her the ondansetron every 3 days she doesn't feel any form of nausea.

Right. I've only used ondansetron a little bit but I don't think one dose works for three days. I thought it was 12 hours maybe? Or 8? I'd have to check. Elise (tiffmaxee) would know, though.

I'm sorry. it must be so frustrating trying to figure out why she gets nauseous even with Cerenia on board. Have you talked to the vet about this?

That's true! I'm pretty sure one dose can suffice 24 hours but not more than that. When I discussed this with the vet she suggested that I give ondansetron as a complement to the cerenia and to monitor Billo and see how often she feels nauseous after receiving one dose. After experimenting with that we decided that a three day time frame is ok because we also don't want to give it to her all the time.

I spoke to the vet and she made notes on Billo's file. She said that it might just be an outlier, and that it isn't something to be too concerned about since her weight hasn't fluctuated and she is still actively feeding and being playful and what not.

It's okay, I have to figure this out one way or another, and I'm glad that the vomiting has subsided now so we've definitely made progress!
