I always tag Bhooma, Wendy and Elsie. Should I be tagging anybody else?

Happy Friday. Hope kitties and kitty parents are having a great day!

A couple questions:

1) We're on the 5th pen of lantus, purchased in May. We keep it in the fridge at all times. Do you think it may not be as effective after 7 months? Tango was all the way down to .25, and now he's up to 1.5. He's been on this dose for almost 4 weeks. Just wondering if it could be the insulin.

2) Also, we will be gone and Tango will miss 2 shots, Sunday night and Monday morning. We'll be back for his Monday pm shot. I'm just concerned that missing 2 shots will be a set back. We have a few wonderful friends that take good care of Tango as far as keeping him company and feeding, but have not found anyone to do injections.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks Staci. Our friends are also cat parents and love their kitties as much as we love Tango. It's comforting to know Tango is in good kitty care when we're gone.

Is Ivy's itching any better?

That’s so wonderful to hear. You’re very lucky to have some reliable help!!
Itching not really any better. I ordered some new products to try. Waiting for their arrival to see if that may help. Thanks for asking. :)
It’s very stressful for Ivy and I wish I could fix that itchies for her.

Personally I'm not a fan of tagging. Better to add the "?" mark to your subject line, and a summary of your question there. There are several experienced people who can help with dosing/insulin questions and putting the "?" mark lets more people know you want help. It's also possible to tag people this time of year who aren't around, if all you do is tag.

When Neko was on her smallest dose, her pens, actually pen refills = cartridge (both Levemir and when back on Lantus), lasted the full cartridge. At one point that was 90 days per cartridge.

Tango's pancreas just needs a little more support. At one point he was up to 2.75 units early summer, so he has come down from that.

It's so hard when we don't know what's wrong. I hope the new products help.:cat:
