Good morning all,
Yesterday was mostly blue on Libre, am cycle then flat yellow night cycle.
I feel like this current dose may be going stale as we are seeing more and more flat yellow cycles creeping in. Even a few pink bounces coming back.

Trying to decide on an increase, but watching what at she does. This is day 10 on 3 unit dose.

Does a dose lose effectiveness and go flat? Is that a thing??

Have a safe surf and a peaceful day all

Hi Staci,
I know exactly what you mean.
Looks like Ivy and Mikan are living parallelly :p
Very similar patterns.
Hope Ivy will start pushing things down a bit more!
Have a lovely day, Staci! :bighug:
Yep, they are twinning for sure, Kit. Have a great day :bighug:

I hope Ivy can work the dose a little better. I took Sly back up to 3 yesterday, because there were lots of blues popping up and the rest of his numbers were just flat. For him specifically, it usually means give a bump up to the next dose before we hit mild glucose toxicity.

Hope you had a great Christmas!

I hope so, too Deb. She needs to work it a bit more. Thanks for your words. Helps me process all of this.
I don’t want her to hit glucose toxicity but also don’t want to give too much. Such a fine line.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good meowning Staci and Ivy
I hope you get dosing help and decide what's best for your sweet girl.

Have a peaceful day

I'm no dosing expert, but you know your cat best. Sometimes you have to combine your knowledge with your "gut feeling" and do what you think is right. Every cat is different, after all. :)
Hi Chrissy, thanks for that great message. I will have to dig deep to try to figure out what’s best I suppose. Just want her to be safe as the most important factor :bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci :)
looks like Ivy gave you some action today.
What kind of number would you look out for with Libre? So I know how to look at her movements.
In any case, looks like Ivy is not flat but giving you some movement. Maybe it's worthwhile golding the dose a bit longer?
You said before that Ivy is slow to show action. Hoe long would you say is her average before you felt she's exhausted a dose?

Hope you're having a good Christmas Day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, sometimes it takes Ivy 5/6 days to get moving on a dose.
She did go a bit lower today a few times. That was a good sign.
With the libre, she really needs to go down to under 50, even better that the Libre reads “Lo”. That corresponds to a green number under 100.
So first she drops to 59s, then 40s then Lo (and the only way to know the exact number of Lo is to test on a handheld meter.)
Sometimes she’s coasted in Lo range for several hours.(It’s scary for me since I really don’t know how low she actually is unless I am poking her every minute.)
So I do test her while she lingers in lo range several times to see where she is.
But when the Libre reads 60s or 70s or 80s, that will usually be from 120-160s or so on a handheld meter.
So I don’t get too worried if she lingers there cause she’s not in danger on a handheld range.
But I have to stay awake and aware as she can drop very quickly down to the Lo range once she starts a drop.

I hope that explains it a bit. Thanks for asking :)

I’m not really sure when she’s done with a dose. I guess if she starts seeing more yellow a lot and more pinks I start to think maybe she’s done with blue then green.
So hard to know. I’m still learning every day. I have so many questions.
I hope you had a good day. And hope you get some good sleep tonight :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Staci. it helps to have this knowledge when I look at your SS.
If I follow your knowledge it looks from last night's readings that she may have had enough of this dose and needs a bit more juice support.
On the whole, from looking at the SS, ut looks like her patterns have changed and Ivy has much less pinks and reds. I don't have that much experience and knowledge, I just use my analytic mind and whatever knowledge I gained from the journey so far. So What I've noticed is that cats can change their patterns when receiving support, just like humans. It could be that what worked for Ivy before is not going to be the same now. But n the whole it looks like a positive change and perhaps if you do decide to increase and she gets a bit more juice she'll respond quicker :bighug::bighug::bighug:
