12/27 Max2 ~ AMPS=217, +3=108, +6.5=90, PMPS=208, +2=186, +4=83, +5=80

I hope you got another test after that +6.5. Though he has slowed down between +3 and +6.
Nevertheless, you don't want him dropping too low by PMPS.
I missed this. Argh. I need to get back to my more frequent testing. His PMPS was 208. I think I may have poked Max just wrong when I gave him his shot or he twitched right when I was putting the needle in. I hate when things don't go smooth. While I'm thinking on it.....what's the best thing for soothing ears nowadays?

Ear Care
Since our kitties must endure so many tests, what are some ways to take care of the ears?
  • Hold a wet, cool baby washcloth on the poke site immediately after the test to prevent bruising.
  • Put Emla cream on the test sites after each test. It only takes a tiny dab and you can wipe it off before the next test. Emla cream requires a prescription from your vet. Neosporin has been found to contain a toxin to cats, polymixin and should be avoided.
  • You can purchase Ledum 30C homeopathic remedy at any health food store. Dissolve one tablet in a small bottle of pure water and then apply one or two drops to each ear every day. Ledum is great for puncture wounds.
