I think we had all become so comfortable with the old board, now we have to relearn a new one, it's frustrating. It's a different animal for sure.

Yeah it sure is....I'm not sure how you keep adding to your own condo, bg readings;etc
 
I think you just did it fine (adding to your condo). Its not going to look like a condo anymore, though.

I'm trying to familiarize myself with this new setup, like all of us.

This PS is worrisome with a ketone prone kitty. I missed any info after your vet visit.

PS? what is PS? Did I know what that was? I'm forgetting everything now :?
There isn't much to say about vet visit. I'm waiting for test results.....
Alex had dosecrease but so far......well you can see
He is very hungry though
 
Hi Caryl,
Im sorry there were no real answers revealed. What tests did you have done? Maybe you could post some of the results and folks could help you pinpoint things that may be contributing? One thing I have learned is that 'normal' on any blood value may not be really normal when taking into account age, and various illnesses among other things.

Other than the high BG Alex is fine? Eating, drinking, pooping, playing, purring, alert, not appearing in pain, etc?

He had a full blood chem screen done. His bg was 241 when it was done because of the R. Even his thyroid was within normal range which means that at least yesterday his thyroid was under control. The only things that were at all out of normal range were BUN which was 49 and normal is 40, and albumin which was 4.1 and 3.9 is normal. His wbc was well within normal range, creatinine normal. Everything that the vet was looking for was normal and he just told me to finish the ab's.

He is eating and would never stop if I didn't stop him. Yes he drinks but not too much. Playing? eh, he's snarky but occasionally he plays if I entice him. If I get out Liv-a-littles he bounces off the walls. He jumps on counters and window sills so i guess he likes to do what he like s to do. He purrs all the time and he grooms and he poops ..normal poops. Very alert and the only time he appears to be in pain in when I stick him too often...he clearly doesn't like that....He is very thin 9.5 but he does have hyperthyroid. He doesn't appear to be not feeling well to me....I just called him and he came over. He said he feels good thanks for asking :P I thank you too ♥
 
hi caryl. will you please make a notation on alex's ss on the day you had a blood ketone reading of 4.0?
have you had a chance to test for ketones since then?

Yeah Hi Jill..yesterday and today..ketodiastix negative, negative. no acetone breath either but I will put it on his sheet. Between Alex and trying to figure out what the heck is going on since nothing seems to be and he is basically acting as normal as apple pie(if it wasn't for his numbers I'd never have a clue)and me being one of the 2 people in my company that is working this week, I have pretty much lost my mind :?
