Happy Thursday to all from ice-cold Maine! At least the sun is shining, and Chispa is taking full advantage of it. Some days I am pretty sure that she can't see, and other days, like today, I am certain that she can, however limited her vision may be. This morning she jumped up on a dining room chair, and then onto the table, to have a look around and maybe get closer to those warm and toasty rays.

Today is a special day for another reason: it's our second anniversary losing precious Chulo. Rather than being sad, Chispa and I will choose to focus on how lucky we were to share fourteen wonderful years with this very special boy. He had glittering eyes that looked straight into your soul, and I don't think a day every went by when he didn't make me laugh somehow. He was equal parts hellraiser and snugglebug, and this photo is so typical of his talent for looking innocent while being in a place where no cat should ever be:

I believe today is also the anniversary of Wendy losing precious Neko. Thinking of you, @Wendy&Neko , and sending wishes for Neko to always keep you company in your heart.

p.s. At the moment I posted this photo, the distinct smell of cat poop wafted into my nostrils. I went to check the litterbox, thinking it was strange that Chispa had already gone once today, but there was nothing in it. I don't think cats fart (?) -- at least, I've never known the ladylike Chispa to fart -- which led me to wonder if Chulo was here playing a practical joke from beyond. It did make me laugh!

Thanks for the memory Karen.:bighug: It was yesterday, 7 years ago. By some weird twist of fate, all three mods lost their precious FD girls in the month December.
There is never a good time, but December is such an especially lonely month. We're lucky to have this FDMB village of friends who "get it." :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Cats can have gas, and toot as a result.
I believe you! But Chispa still insists on blaming Chulo. ;):smuggrin:

Awww. Condolences to you and @Wendy&Neko Those sad anniversary dates are always so painful. And only others, who have experienced it can relate as many of us here can. Chulo was quite a handsome devil, and you were so lucky to have him in your life.
So glad that Chispa was enjoying the warm sunny rays today. It was a very cold day on the East Coast. Burrr, Ivy spent the day in her cozy warm bed.
Have a safe surf and a nice night! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Chispa is looking good in the blues today.

Also wanted to add how beautiful that you choose to celebrate the time spent with him. This way he will always be with you, in your heart and in your memories :cat::bighug::cat::bighug:

Ps he was very handsome :cat::kiss:

Thanks so much, Staci. I WAS lucky -- I try to remind myself of that whenever I miss him, which is often. I know he's the last person (fur person) who would want to see me sad -- for somehow he always knew when to come into the room and flop down on the floor and do something funny as a distraction. No tears on his watch!!:cat:
I'm glad Ivy is cozy, and I hope you are too. It is hard to stay warm on a day like today, but our cats have mastered the art! Have a nice evening, you two :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Karolina -- and yes, it doesn't come naturally to my heart, but my brain knows the best way I can deal with loss is to hold onto the love. Once they get into our hearts, they're part of us forever. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: for you, Karen.
It is never easy losing our precious babies. Every time I lose one, a part of me goes with them.
I still cannot listen to Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven without breaking down.
But at the same time, it's a blessing that we get to spend so many years with them. So many wonderful memories.
I'm forever grateful that I've got opportunities to live with all the kitties who joined me since childhood.
Hope you get to celebrate all the joys you shared with Chulo.

By the way, Mikan does produce Silent but Deadly poof~:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi Karen, what a great pic of Chulo and so funny. What a handsome boy !
Sending you lots of hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
In case you didn't realize you need to fill in the PM cycle 12-6) for Chispa on the SS
Stay warm :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:
@Karen and Chispa
Aww, thanks Diane. He was sweet, smart, handsome, and funny -- in other words, the perfect guy! I appreciate the hugs and am sending a bunch back to you (one for Tyler, too). :bighug::bighug::cat::bighug::bighug:

Thanks too about the spreadsheet reminder. Don't know how I missed it, but it's filled in now!
