2/11 Jocke, AMPS 226, +2 231, +4 212, +6 107, +7.5 129, +9 356, +11 530, PMPS 497, +4.5 486, +7 415

Linking my initial thread here where I needed help with units and my boy's low BG numbers.

Background: Jocke has gotten very low at around +4 the past few days and I've closely tested and monitored. He was moved up to 4U by my vet about 2 weeks ago, and now I am shooting lower because of his low numbers (< 50) and am watching how we go. He received 1.5U for his morning cycle.

Was the dry he was eating the Dr. Elsey's chicken? or was he eating another dry earlier?

 

We started with Dr. Elsey's Salmon, but they (both my cats) then moved over to the Chicken formula.

 

took Jocke's +2 which is at 231.

 

+4 is 212

 

Welcome to the forum! I hope the 1.5u dose works well for Jocke. Great job catching those low numbers over the past couple of days.

 

Thank you! I hope I can find the right dose for him to not go too high nor too low. The help here is incredible!!! His +6 number is 106 and we're halfway through the cycle

 

I guess the +9 356 is a bounce? @Chris & China (GA) @Bandit's Mom based on the nadir value today, would you recommend to stick to a low dose like 1.5 or return to the higher ones? Unsure where to go from here. Will look for the +11.5 and PMPS values.

OK....now that the depot has drained some, I'd go back to 3U tonight and now that you're testing more, let's see what that dose actually does for him unless he surprises us with a much lower PMPS

his numbers have gotten pretty high now, so I am going ahead and will give him the 3U and then test +3, +6, +9 to see where this is going.

 

You may not need to test all night tonight. He may just might bounce all night. Let's get a +3 and see where he is then.

Even if he doesn't mind the pokes, you might as well get sleep in cycles that you can
You will spend enough nights staying up to test him when he goes low!

 

for some reason I slept through my alarm and only got the +4.5 number during the night and then the +7, both on the 400s

 

You could've called it a night after that +4.5!

 

I did - tested after I got up at +7

 

his AMPS is at 352 now, I'll do a +6 to see how it's going

 

Can you start a new thread for today please? We are particular about that because we don't want threads to get too long to read.
Especially when a kitty goes low and we need to read in a rush to be able to give advice!
