http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/2-12-luci-amps-224-dose-increase.210654/#post-2335538 A brief visit to the lagoon yesterday...but that was it. She quickly bounced out and never went back. Vines and prayers to those in need.
Maybe they aren't liking the temp of the water. Or better, there are no sharks for them to play with........
On the SS you wrote she's drinking a Lot of water.Has Luci ever drank a lot of water before? If this is new it might be a good time to check her Kidney Function. If anything is going on the earlier you catch it the better. Ravan started drinking a ton of water & I thought it was from the diabetes. Turns out it's kinney disease. If I had known sooner I would have started him on the Calcitriol & the Renadyl he now gets. I hope it's nothing but it wouldn't hurt to check?
Yes, she tends to go thru 'phases'...I just thought I'd note it...she was drinking a lot of water on a few previous occasions - way back before we knew anything about diabetes - she seemed to go thru a phase of drinking a lot...and then when we thought something was wrong - one of the things she was doing was drinking a lot of water. It seems to be off and on...she'll go for a long period of time and the water just sits...and then she's back at the water...I thought I'd note it to give myself a que as to how long it lasts and the frequency of these occasions... Are there any other symptoms to her possibly having kidney disease?
Not that I know of,just drinking a lot of water & peeing large amounts. I just mentioned it because like I said I wish I knew sooner so I could of started the meds I give him now.
I was advised by my vet that most times that the blood work show anything that that the kidney's are already functioning at about 66% - 75%. The first signs are usually the excess drinking. An ultrasound would be needed to see if there is a shrinkage. A good physical could help if there is significant shrinkage of the kidneys. My Kidney kitty is 8 years post dx. She has stayed in stage 2 for about 5 years now. Her only signs is the drinking an the acidic tummy vomit. I would continue to document and if you see the consistency in the drinking (which can be the FD as well), ask you vet.
