I’m trying to draw up 0.1 units in a syringe and use the calipers. I even tried without the calipers. That’s hard to do! I’ve looked at the sticky that goes over that. Anyone have anything helpful they could share?

It depends on what type of syringes you are using, some are easier/harder than others to get consistent. Start with getting a consistent 0.25 units, then work on getting a dose about 1/2 of that.

To test consistency, first draw the dose. Then turn the plunger (not squeeze) so that a drop comes out. Try to get consistent size drops, and count how many in your dose. Try to get first 0.25 unit, then 0.1 unit doses with consistent numbers of drops.

I use the Vet RX Ulticare syringes. I was practicing with cranberry juice so I can see it. It’s such a small amount that I’m just worried I won’t see the insulin in the syringe, but I will keep practicing and try what you suggested. Thanks Wendy.
