1/8 Shooter AMPS 129 | Feline Diabetes Message Board - FDMB

Hello everyone!!! Just wanted to jump on here and say hi since it has been SO LONG since I've been on here. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll have to thumb back thru a few to see what's been happening. Shooter is doing great! He's still all over the board but we've come down in insulin quite a bit. Waiting to see what this most recent decrease is going to do. Not sure if it will stick or if it's a fail and we need to go back to 4u. There's really nothing new to report. This Friday he will get his 12th Solensia injection and in March he will be 18!

Oh, question, does anyone know anything about the FF gravy lovers PATE? I didn't know there was even such a thing until I saw it on a FB group and they were saying it was really low carb. Even though it says pate, I can't imagine anything with GRAVY is low carb.

@Diane Tyler's Mom GA @tiffmaxee but this is what’s weird… they look almost identical except the label color is slightly different pinks and one is GRILLED and the other is PATE. The food chart only says Gravy Lovers it doesn’t say grilled OR pate.

OK, so the ingredients are definitely not the same. The pate is chicken broth, chicken, meat by products, liver, chicken, artificial, and natural flavors. The grilled on the other hand also has wheat gluten, cornstarch modified, soy flour, glycerin, salt, tricalcium phosphate.
I also found online someone had already contacted Purina and they said it was a new product and here is the information

I went to see what Chewy had to say about FF pate with gravy: here's what I found in their Q&A

What is the % carbs on a dry matter basis?

This recipe contains 5.8% carbohydrates on a dry matter basis.

When I inserted the guarantee analysis numbers into the carb calculator

I got 4.2% dry matter carb.
They must be using broth based gravy - maybe a good option!

Hi Heather, Ivy is hanging in there. I guess overall she’s doing well.
As you know, lots of issues we work on every day but she’s a happy girl and recently decided to start jumping on the bed and using the Pet steps, so that’s her new and improved behavior, I’ll take it:)

That’s great and all are lc. I figured it might be new.
