I saw the first green today!!! Unfortunately, I could not test at +5 or +6 when it is his nadir.
He had 76 at +8. He ate well after that.
The question is: how much do I give them tonight? 2U? 2.5U? Or to decrease more?
I'm quite afraid of hypo, if he gets sick at night and we sleep? Or tomorrow, in the middle of the day, when I'm not at home again?

Thank you!!

Off-topic question: if I want to answer a question from the previous post, do I answer there, or do I continue here?

Lovely to see that green today.:D

Have you decided yet which of our two dosing methods you'd like to follow? Since you are feeding all wet or raw food, you can follow either Tight Regulation (TR) or Start Low Go Slow (SLGS). If following TR, a reduction is not earned yet and he needs to go below 50 to earn a reduction. If following SLGS, any drop below 90 earns a 0.25 unit reduction and the new dose would be 2.25 units.

Do you leave food out when you are away during the day or at night? Eating is what help help keep Torky safe.

I don't know now if it wasn't 50 at the nadir.

Initially I said that I would go for SLGS, but the vet told me not to go below 2U at those rather high values. That's why I chose TR.

I don't know how to do it, but I see that the BG decreases in total, although I maintain the dose.
Any suggestions?

I leave him food - but it depends on his appetite - sometimes he eats everything I give him at that moment, he doesn't save it for later. Today I left some canned food for him, he didn't eat right away.

Eating.... that's another problem!! I can already see that the stomatitis is starting to manifest again (he was on prednisolone - 0,3mg - for 5 days and I was told that the effect lasts for 2-3 weeks - and that ends!). If he suffers from stomatitis again, he will stop eating and I have to go back on corticosteroids - he has so many medications to take, I can't give him if he is in pain and if he doesn't eat!

I kept the dose - 2.5 U.
If the BG is still low tomorrow morning, should I lower it?
From what value should it be reduced?

Nice and flat last part of the cycle. :D I would get a +1 and a +2, to see what he night do this cycle. That's what we suggest when you shoot your lowest numbers yet.

Could you add "TR" to your signature, so it's easy to see what dosing method you are using. If he stays above 50 tonight, the dosing method says he hasn't earned a reduction. How late after AMPS can you get a test before you have to leave for the day? It's also possible he might bounce and be totally safe tomorrow. Hard to say this early what is going to happen.

Nice? It scares me!!!:nailbiting:
I will do tests tonight at + 1 to +3.
Tomorrow I will stay until +4 (if it is raised to +3 I leave then, if not, I stay until +4). Tomorrow someone will be able to be with him at home - just to observe and feed - without a test.
Thank you for the advice!:bighug:

When someone shots their first green, they get these. Congratulations.

Thank you! It seems to be good! I'm a bit scared of the green numbers at the moment, but that's the goal after all, right?
