We increased to a fat 1.25 a few days ago when Callie started running a little higher. We were originally going to go back up to 1.5 but then Callie threw us some lower numbers so we thought we would try fattening up the 1.25 first. I think it's working okay so far...
In other Callie news, she had a vet visit yesterday and we got lab results back today. Most everything is in normal range but her RBC, HGB and HCT numbers are all oddly out of whack. The vet thinks that this is likely due to dehydration, though he didn't think that Callie appeared dehydrated when he examined her. Rob and I are wondering if there was a problem with the blood sample -- there was a note with her platelets result indicating that they couldn't get an accurate automated number because of clumping so maybe something similar caused falsely high numbers for RBC, HGB and HCT. We plan to rerun the labs in a few months just in case there is something more serious going on but at this point, the vet said not to worry about that since everything else looked good.
Speaking of looking good, Callie's glucose result from the lab was 78
Her BG just before the vet came was 79 on our Relion meter. We were amazed to see how close those numbers actually were and also relieved that Callie's sugar didn't spike sky-high during the vet visit!
