This morning he vomited and urinated on the floor. I increased his insulin to .75U.

Jojo: re hyperaldosteronism - no, it hasn't come up in conversation.
He had an ultrasound in October. One adrenal gland was within normal limits, while the other was not visualized.
Here is the u/s report link: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AQg68 ... cmdk&hl=en

Is hypernatremia normally associated with CRD? Could it be an artifact of dehydration?

Lots of liquipoo.

I am getting close to bailing out of this whole renal diet thing. How can this be good for my cat?

It probably isn't. Especially now that there's doubt it's even primary kidney disease.

The phosphate binder came this afternoon. Capsules containing 120 mg Aluminum Hydroxide to be given BID with food. I will try to leave at least an hour before giving other oral meds when I can.

Purchased today: Evo 95% Beef (phos 171), Evo 95% Venison (phos 146), Wellness turkey (phos 200). Had on hand some Wellness chicken (phos 219).
Returned to vet today: canned reduced protein.

He daintily nibbled some Wellness chicken and some Evo venison, after I sprinked it with some Reduced Protein fishy smelling kibble. Teddy thinks this stuff is fantastic, so I assume it would taste good to a cat with a normal appy.

Linda & Bear Man--Hoping The sweet boys will be much better tomorrow..
Sending good health vibes & lots of Hugs to you all..

It occurs to me that his evening cycles will behave differently now. I used to give the pred at the same time as his pm insulin. Now I am delaying his oral meds 1 - 2 hours after I give insulin/methimazole/phosphate binder. So he will probably dip a bit after the pm shot, and his rise from the pred will be delayed.

Hi Linda,
I just wanted to stop by and wish Bear Man well and to say I am thinking of both your boys.

Scratches for Bear Man and Teddy.

((Linda))

I hope you are able to consult with your vet about the hyperaldosteronism. Likewise, I hope Bear decided the new food is OK.

You're juggling so much these days. (( Linda )) I hope you don't have to work alot this weekend and can just relax with your kitties a bit.
