Yesterday.

Will the AM preshots ever come down? I guess I need someone who has seen it happen to tell me yes and I'll let go. :)

Healing thoughts to all of the sick kitties and hugs to you beans who love them so. Have a great Sunday and enjoy more snow to everyone on the east coast in the US!

Surf safely, Ruby :cat:

And, from your notes, it looks like you stopped the +9 snack? I'm no expert here but I've seen others advised to keep that snack when on such a low dose. I've also heard to keep food change consistent for 3-4 days to see the impact. Perhaps it just takes a bit of time for Ruby :bighug: I'm sure others will weigh in.

Yeah, I did the +9 snack for a week to no effect so I stopped it because I didn't want it to have the opposite effect of pushing the numbers higher. It doesn't look like it's doing that either as her number was 130 this morning with no snack. :(

Yes, they will come down.

For some cats, the AMPS is often the last number to fall into place. In part this is due to dawn phenomenon. It's a normal part of physiology that our bodies (and cat bodies) begin to prepare for the stress of the day by releasing stress hormones in the early hours prior to waking. These hormones cause a rise in blood glucose.

I'd suggest going back to the +9 snack. Any change in food or feeding cycle may take more than a week for your cat to adjust. Ideally, the snack will stimulate Ruby's pancreas to produce its own insulin and the AMPS will drop a bit.

Thank you, Sienne. I will resume the +9 snack. Should I do this in both the AM and PM cycles or do you think the PM is enough? Either way, Ruby will be happy with extra food. :cat:

Hi Katherine, I have the same question about the AM preshots, you and Ruby are not alone. Maybe next week ?? Ruby and Dolly's spreadsheet look very much alike. Wishing you both a Happy Sunday. Ruby, you stay safe. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh wow! I haven't been to visit Dolly in a while, she's doing great! I know I need to give it more time. We're on such a small dose now that it makes me antsy because I can see the light at the end of the FD tunnel. We are so.very.close.

Hugs to you, Adrienne, and thank you for coming by and giving me a bit of hope.
