The expected bounce from last night's lows. I missed the +1 snack alarm and gave her a larger portion at +1.5, but that did not stop my little cliff diver from executing her graceful swooping descent from sky-blue to sea-green. What can I do but keep trying? It's still less than a week since her dental, so hopefully she will level out once fully healed.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday!:coffee::cat:

I hope she goes back to greens tonight/tomorrow. :):D

Stinky breath so soon after a dental, bummer. Could be something stuck between his teeth, who knows ... but whatever the cause, I hope it's an easy fix.
I ordered some of that Healthy Mouth water additive for Chispa on the vet's recommendation. The stuff isn't cheap, so it had better do something ...
So glad Biggie is doing great and getting lots of attention. Give that boy a skritch for me! :bighug::cat:
I will give Biggie a scritch from you, for sure! Yeah, I have actually been meaning to get into brushing his teeth but was putting it off because I couldn’t decide what type of brush and paste I want. But the other day after I looked at his teeth I can see redness again around his gums. It’s not angry red but it’s there…so I got motivated and ordered a Jasper finger brush which seems good. I tried it once but then I realized the Virbac paste I got has dextrose in it…ugh…so not sure what I’m going to do for paste. I’ve read coconut oil is effective, but can that really be? It’s all over the internet…lol. Also a baking soda paste could work but would likely taste like crap and he is not happy with this as it is. He lets me do a little so I think in time it will get better, like anything. I hope I can reverse whatever is going on without another dental, but maybe something was just surfacing and there was nothing I could do…I’m glad he is going in for a visit soon though because the scraping sound is really odd.

I hope the water additive is effective for Chispa! :bighug:

Dextrose in a cat toothpaste, seriously?? Don't get me started.

I noticed the Healthy Mouth site had a topical gel that you apply to their teeth with a Q-tip before bed so that it can stay on overnight. It sounded like a good idea, though maybe not for cats that have 10-12 meals per day? (therefore no time for the gel to sit there and work its magic). I think I will call them and see what they say. I'll report back if I learn anything useful. :cat:

That sounds like a good option if it is sugar free! He does go most of the night without food unless he gets up to eat on his own, but usually just does that once during the night so it could do some magic, hopefully. Let me know what they say.
Apparently cats cannot taste sweetness since they’re strict carnivores, so putting sugar in toothpaste for them is useless anyway! https://www.npr.org/2005/07/25/4766556/cats-cant-taste-sweetness-study-finds
