Good morning,
Ivy seems to be feeling well, eating her food just fine and purrs and cuddles when she deems she's in the mood (she's actually pretty cuddly these days).

Stools are a little better, just not back to complete normal. Slightly softer than I would like to see.

I am still giving her Cerenia 4 mg and S. Boulardi 1/2 capsule 2x daily, with 1 ml Animal Essentials Colon Rescue 2x daily (for soft stools).

Haven't heard from my vet
Will send another email and call to ask for a call to discuss the plan for her.
I'm not sure if I should stop the Cerenia again or if the anti inflammatory properties are helping her to heal from pancreatitis.

Hope you all have a very calm and boring day with safe surfing :cat:

Sounds all positive except for the vet not getting back to you, but that seems to be quite normal. They all seem to be just a little bit too busy! :( Sounds like what you are doing is working and great to hear she ios eating and acting normally and giving you lots of cuddles. :cat:
Its hard to say how well Cerenia works with inflammation. I know some have used it for asthma, but my guess is that it only helps with very mild inflammation, like it does for pain and nausea. its mainly for vomiting. But I say if its working, dont fix it, at least until she is completely back to normal. Maybe you can try e/o day.

Thanks, Jo. I really appreciate your perspective, I know you know a lot about all of this stuff.

I would love to have a conversation with the vet, I still am hoping that he will call maybe later. Many times he calls in the early evening when he’s done seeing patients. We’ll see what happens.
I would love to feel a little more secure in removing the Cerenia if I saw the stools looking more normal.
Again, I’m not sure if this is just lingering and left over from the pancreatitis. It was strange how things looked better for a few days and then started to look worse again last Friday.

I’m trying to hold onto the fact that she’s behaving normally, so compared to when she was feeling really sick, It was obvious she felt terrible.

Thanks for dropping by and letting me know what you think :bighug::bighug:

@Staci, is it possible that the Cerenia is causing her loose stools? I just consulted Dr. Google, and it says that diarrhea is one of the side-effects of Cerenia.

Interesting question. Thanks for mentioning that, Mary.
I will investigate that angle.
Her stools seem better this evening so hoping we are heading in the right direction :bookworm:

New Libre installed today. Activated it this evening. (I thought I had to activate it tomorrow morning until I saw on Ivy‘s phone that it only had 3 hours left)
Somehow, I didn’t pay close enough attention, but caught my mistake. That was close ;)
I may be a little bit distracted these days:rolleyes:

Hi Staci. Glad to hear that Ivy is doing well and you're getting lots of cuddles and purrs.
I hope you hear from the vet soon. Happy you caught the Libre! :)
Wishing you both a nice calm night with lots of rest and a safe surf! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Staci I'm glad her poop is better than it was this morning , I'm happy to hear she's eating well and giving purrs and cuddles.
Tell Ivy I don't like soft serve ice cream :p
I'd like to see her poop hard right out of the freezer :p
I hope the vet will call you tomorrow.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Madeline, Thanks for the good wishes, she must’ve heard you because we had a good sleep. She did come up around 4:30 this morning and climbed in bed and purred on me. I’ll take that any day :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Diane, I’m glad things are firming up too. No soft Is desired in this house
Today things look like they’re moving in the right direction so paws crossed.
I did hear from the vet later yesterday and he feels she’s moving in the right direction, paws crossed that continues.
Hope all is well with you. Ivy and I send big hugs :bighug::cat::bighug:

So glad the vet got back to you, and it sounds like all positive news. I'm so glad.
Have a wonderful day, Staci, and please give miss Ivy a big ol' floofy snuggle for me :bighug::cat::bighug:

Animal Essentials Colon Rescue
ohhh that looks interesting. Have you been using it for a while or just now for the pancreatitis?
Fistuk is finding it more and more difficult to offer his baked goods. I suspect it's got more to do with his weak hips than colon but I wonder if something like that could help him have smoother producton process
