Such a high AMPS

She threw up a bit of white foam this morning, and I think she’s constipated again. The pumpkin alone isn’t helping enough so I gave her 1/4 tsp of Miralax after AMPS. She’s also losing weight bc she loves to eat when I’m sitting next to her and sometimes chasing her with the food bowl, so for the past 2 days I would say she’s only really eaten about 1 can of food each day since I can coax her during AMPS and PMPS.

I stuck to 1 drop today because it took her 3.5 cycles to clear the last bounce. Will have to reassess dosage when I get home for PMPS.

We have a follow up at the vet tomorrow so hoping we will be okay til then.

Not every cat sees a drop in BG with fluids but it’s more common than not. If you give it at +11 and shoot at +12, you might be faced with the BG bring too low to shoot. I don’t think +11 is ideal.

Why don’t you try it once in the evening at +3 and see if it affects her? Maybe do it on the weekend so if she does go low, you won’t have to worry about being exhausted at work the next day?

Do you think kitty has acid in the tummy, hence the white foamy vomit or could it be constipation? I hope she slides down for you tonight.

Tonight we went down to 160. I think maybe I can increase her dose? But according to SLGS I would stick with 1 drop for another couple days right?

I thought maybe 2 drops instead of 1…

Yes you would hold the dose for a week.

Foamy vomit early is often acid tummy. You can try a small, LC snack at +9 or so to see if that helps. I use egg yolk powder from Nature’s Farmacy. It’s great for constipation and hairballs but it comes in a large container. You can also give her a tiny bit of raw egg yolk (not egg white).
