Well, I had a feeling Shooter's blood pressure was high and it is. It was two hundred something over one hundred something. The lowest it got in the office was 187 over one hundred something. I don't think it was because he was super stressed because he doesn't mind being there at all. He's super calm and cooperative and even purrs while laying there getting rubs from everyone. They put him on .625 mg of Amlodipine besylate daily. I sure hope this helps because besides having a stroke, I'm worried about his eyes and kidneys.

Hope all of you and your kitties are doing well! :cat:

Hi Heather, I hope the meds will work well for Shooter. Paws crossed and sending best wishes to you both.
Had you seen any symptoms of this problem?

Hi Staci! Unfortunately, now in hindsight, I'm wondering if this has been going on for awhile now. Last year at night when I would go to bed he would start screaming, go pick out a toy, continue screaming with it in his mouth, drop it and scream at it then go lay down. Several months ago he started crying more and more. It seemed like it was any time I left a room or went outside. I thought he might be getting dementia or losing hearing or eyesight. Last month he was peeing in the box but pooping out of it. I thought maybe his kidneys were acting up and he was more constipated. When we went to the vet yesterday and they were checking it. She also checked his eyes and was very concerned with his left eye. She couldn't say for sure but thought she might see some blood in it... from the high bp and she said his kidneys would also be affected by high bg.

Poor baby. Did the vet think it’s been going on for a while based on this information?

I do hope the meds will help correct the issue.
Sending you and Shooter hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:
