Good morning :)

Fistuk had a beautiful green Am cycle yesterday and surprised with a 67 at +2.5 PM. He started showing some greens earlier in the PM cycle.

I notice that after going low to the 70's he has a mini bounce and his numbers goes up to low blues. I see that stying longer with this dose was in fact a good thing. It allowed me to see what he does with a dose when staying longer on it and I get the sense that his body is exploding the boundaries and edges of regulation.

I still plan to give him another umpf and raise to 2.5U after we change the time.

Fistuk had a good play session with a pigeon's feather. I'll hunt for some feathers in the fields today :cat:

We're trying to plan a trip to Italy to stay with family over easter. We need still to see if Robert can have Friday off. But the intention is there and the Catsitter is ready to come in.

She won't be able to stay over which is not ideal for me. But she'll come twice for shots and then once during the day and once before bed time. I plan to use the auto feeder in between.

Fistuk really loves being on the bed but with no one at home it's a risk he will pee on the bed. Today he looked like he would love to jump on the bed but it's just too high. So I experimented with placing some box that's middle hight between the floor and the bed and he used YAY :p Paws crossed he will use it independently to go up and down.

The vet said that the steps you can find in amazon are deigned for docs and see finds that many cats struggle to use them. We're planing to order a custom made from a friend who's a carpenter.

I saw some orthopaedic beds for cats yesterday at the pet shop and plan to get one of this as well and perhaps tear an older flannel sheet and create something that will feel similar to our bed. Perhaps that will invite him to stay on his bed more and when we're not here in easier reach of the toilet.

So some ideas are brewing :p

Wishing you all a peaceful, boring day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hello Shelly!

A nice start this AM and sounds like Fistuk is doing well.
When Nestle had issues with jumping up and down the first time around I had wooden crates set up everywhere as steps and he was using them.
I'm very excited for you and your trip to Italy this Easter. I wish I could travel right meow and visit my family in Poland, but hopefully soon.

Wishing you and the boys a nice and sunny Sunday.

Imagining Fitsuk chasing that feather is so sweet!
Can you leave puppy pads on the bed so you don't have to worry about him peeing while you're gone? And maybe you can put a plastic cover under the sheets (like parents do when their kids wet the bed) as extra insurance?

It's exciting to plan a trip, and a sitter 4 times a day sounds wonderful. i hope all goes well and you have a good time. Our sitter sends us photos every day and it's something we are all waiting for twice a day when we are in France ;)
Did you try a humidifier? It could help if the air is dry. I give Bella 1/2 Zyrtec during pollens season, too, but that's something you should discuss with your vet.

Hi Shelly,
So nice to hear that Fistuk enjoyed playing with feathers! Must have bee adorable. :kiss:
Nice plan to spend the Easter weekend in Italy! It sounds like you are preparing well for Fistuk to stay comfortable while you are away - very nice :)
Which part of Italy are you planning? I've only been to the northern part and fancy, some day, to visit the southern part.
Have a lovely Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Karolina :)
I hope we can make it happen. DH needs to find someone to take over his Friday shift otherwise it's be too tight to travel. Paws crossed.
I can understand the wish to go visit home. I hope you can go to Poland soon. My father is from Poland so we share some common roots :joyful:

Hi Z :)
He's really cute when he's playing with the feather :joyful:
I don't want him to get used to peeing on the bed. The thoughts of it puts me off :p We have a mattress protection for accidents but I'd rather look for solutions for him to get up and down the bed.
We left for a walk, Fistuk was on the carpet by the bed and I left the box next to the bed. When we came back he was on the bed :joyful::joyful::joyful: One small success for Fistuk a hug step for mum ;)
Hope you're having a lovely Sunday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile :)
I hope we can make it to Italy. It's still not certain. It'll be great to have the sitter here but it'll cost... We will now always have to have extra budget for travels. But if she comes at least I'll be quite so it's' worth it. This sitter sends me photos each time she visits even off the empty plate and the empty vitamins capsule. I told her I don't need these photos but she sends them anyways.
waiting fir the photos when you're away is very exciting!
I'm not in favour of medication and now with his CKD I need to be extra careful with giving meds. I'm quite confident that some flower essence will help. Fistuk responds well to natural things.
I'll look into humidifier.
hope you're having a lovely Sunday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit :)
It was adorable and also joyful to see him move :kiss:
His mum lives in the Apennine mountains between Modena and Bologna. So not part. I haven't been much to the south myself. Just Napoli. Italy is no doubt beautiful (and chaotic ;))
Hope you're enjoying your Sunday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, what a nice cycle Fistuk is having , I see :D
That's a great idea having your friend making Fistuk custom made steps.
I'm jealous you're going to Italy lol, take me with you :p
Good idea putting a piece of a flannel sheet in the orthopedic bed.
I hope you can fund some more feathers for Fistuk to play with

Have a nice day Shelly :bighug::bighug: :cat:

@Fistuk & Shelly
Hi Diane :)
What a beautiful photo :kiss::kiss::kiss:
We had a long time ago a cat sitter that as such a great person and she really loves F&P. She made a toy from feathers for them and they still play with it.
We have lots of stalks and herons around so I hope to find some nice long feathers for him. Haven't found today but everyone's throwing things they don't need since it's spring collection day tomorrow so we found instead of feather some lovely wooden chairs for the balcony :p
You're very welcome to stay with us in Italy. there's plenty of space there and it's really gorgeous :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelley, I hope you are having a relaxing weekend! Fistuk looks like he had a beautiful green surf yesterday so today is a blue surf! I am overjoyed to read you are considering that trip to Italy over Easter, I hope it works out for you. The sitter situation sounds pretty good, 4 visits and pictures would be very nice. I love the idea of Fistuk playing with the feather. Here in the US, we buy this thing called DaBird, basically a feather on a string and on a stick, same thing for many $$ :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: When my girl Tiger started having trouble getting up on my bed I made fabric cushion steps for her and to get her to use them, I lined each stair with her Pure Bites treats LOL! (She did not need that part, that is just me being OCD LOL):rolleyes: You are so blessed to want to visit your mother in law ;););), I hope this trip works out for you two!!!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Ruth :)
We have these toys here too. I never buy them. When my sister comes to visit from LA she often brings these toys but never play with it. It’s incredible to discover that with a real feather they get quite activated.
I love my mother in law. She’s a very kind and gentle person. We still don’t know weather Robert will get that Friday off. We told to wait till the 28th. If we can go it’ll be a first trail of being away from home. I trust that sitter and if anything happens I can just drive back home. It’s 6 hours so it’s not very close but also not too far.
I love the image of your placing the treats on the steps for Tiger girl :joyful::bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's so cool Shelly. Do you know where from Poland your father came from?

I can feel the connection :cat::bighug:

No. But I'll ask him.
We're connected in yo many ways I love it :bighug::bighug::bighug:
I can join this conversation, too. Must be why we always have a connection, @Fistuk & Shelly and @Karolina KJ & Nestle
My family is also from that region. With borders moving around etc, a bit hard to pinpoint, but I’m of Ukrainian descent, from what I can trace.
I’m so thankful for what they must have gone through to emigrate to the US in the late 1800s and early 1900s. (Those were just awful times to have to flee with babies on ships crossing Europe to an unknown land). I am so grateful for our life and the sacrifices made my family. It’s not lost on me and we discuss it often in our household. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
