It's official, 1st day of a BG below 50, 2 more days to go! Will test again at +1.5. I put a little tiny bit of honey on her lips and she had some LC 5%. Depending on where she's at or +1.5, is it better to give her a drop of honey vs. a tiny amount? She's very sensitive to it and it always makes her jump up quickly, is that what I want so early in the cycle? Or is it better for her long term to not have a huge artificial BG rise?

Hello Angela,
I just gave her more honey and did another test. She's at 47 at +2.25. She won't eat anything but her LC food so I have to use honey to make it mid or high carb but it's hard to know how much to give.

Sorry I didn't know that about her food. You're doing great. It's hard to figure out how much honey to add at first. Looks like you've seen limes a few times. Do you know how much honey it took to raise the BG?
How is she behaving? Are you ok?

That's ok! She's really picky so I'm just thankful she eats the LC food that I give all my kitties!
It took a small drop to get it up a few points so I have about twice as much after her last test.
She was acting really hungry at +1.5,now she's just napping normally in her favourite spot.
I'm mostly ok lol. Nervous but I know there's always support here. Thank you for helping us out!

She's still going up very slowly, going to try a bit more honey this time as it's still soooo early in the cycle?

I do :p 5% is the highest she'll eat. She had little snacks and of her LC with the honey at first but hasn't been interested the last couple tests so I put it on cooked chicken to get her to at least get some honey into her.
 
Once I get two tests in a row in high 50s or above, should I test hourly until +6 then every 2 hours? Or what's the best approach to testing at that point? Have to work tomorrow so sleep would be nice, but I'll do what's needed till she's safe :coffee::cat:
 
Good news is you have two tests in the dark green range :cat::D. I typically test hourly for two hours from the last time I fed HC. When was the last time you gave some honey?

Sorry, I didn't get the alert for the tag. If last meal with MC/HC/honey was at +3, then you want to get a +5 to ensure that she doesn't dive again after the crabs wear off - typically 2 hours after the meal.
