Flat yellow day so far. Had a tough morning, Jack was very fidgety for his test, ruined my last ketone strip with his moving so no ketone test, and literally had to be stalked to get his shot. Not sure what that drama was about, he was mad with the kibble mix ratio (Chewy didn't deliver my order yet, it's late, so more Ziwi than Elsey's in the bowl pissed him off I guess) and was more interested in beating his kittens up than eating. This afternoon he's just sleeping on the couch, and was swatting my hand as I tried to get the +4 BG test. I'm looking to test again in the next hour or so, and hopefully his mood will have improved.

Hope everyone is having a good day and the kitties are surfing safely! :bighug::bighug:

Oh boy, Christine, Jack is really putting on a show for you :p:p:p
When I take ketones test I use a cup to collect the pee rather than put the strip directly under. Fistuk doesn't move much but with all his hair I find it difficult to see where the steam is ;) Maybe it'll be easier for you like this? I imagine you've tried different methods so far...

I hope he relaxed towards the evening. Looks like he loves mum's attention :bighug::bighug:

One of those days Jack and you had.
Nothing goes as planned, and kitties acting like possessed by something we can't see.
Hope things get better as the day went on!
Looks like Jack went up and then came down for the PMPS - sort of reverse curve?
Hope he gives you an easier day tomorrow! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Wow, Fistuk is such a good boy to let you collect urine! Jack jumps out of the box if I even look at him in there! Therefore, I don't test his urine, I have a separate meter to test the ketone level in his blood, which the vet told me would be more accurate (and more expensive...those strips are costly!) So if Jack shows 0.4 ketone level on the blood strip according to the vet this would not register on the urine strips but 0.5 on the blood meter would register as a trace on the urine strips. I thought I had another bottle of blood meter strips, but I don't, and I'm annoyed with Jack because like I said, the strips are expensive, money is very tight right now, and they require a lot more blood to get a reading, so I use them sparingly. He's been high with his BG so I figured I'd grab a test but he had other plans.....:banghead:
