Torky has not received corticosteroids for a month and maybe the normalization of blood sugar is also an effect of their discontinuation.

Yes, the diabetes could be steroid induced and the discontinuation could be making a big difference to his numbers. This is still the 2U depot at work but you could try 1.5U from tomorrow and see if it holds. Sometimes cats are rushing down the dosing ladder.
