We are up to 2.25units, started last night. I calculated the caliper dose for accuracy. 3.04 mm.
This am sugar may not be fasting. I found Phoebe on the catio this am. She doesn't like to use the swing door--unless she follows somebody out or in. It wasn't too cool out there. I have plastic around it to keep out the elements. But it took a bit to warm her ears with my warming towel to get a sugar. Silly kitty.

The food I have in the house, there is nothing over 12 carbs. (this is in the other kitties section.
Phoebe gets the ff and rabbit. Everything she is getting is 10 carbs or less.
I am trying a chicken called Savage 3 oz packets. When looking for the low carb keeping in mind cost and serving sizes FF seems to come out ahead.
Sometimes none of the kitties will eat it.
Fortiflora helps for a few of them.

Savage Cat Raw? Leroy gets the rabbit sometimes for snacks. It's pretty expensive. I buy the occasional box of 7 (?) packets from the indy pet store for about $30. They have the plastic jars too but I don't have freezer space for a jar and a jar might go bad before Leroy can even finish it. Savage Cat has a home delivery subscription service but it's pricey.

There's another similar raw food called Purr. https://omaspride.com/frozen-raw/ The only cat food is poultry based. Civvie loved the free samples I got from a pet fair but when I bought a bag of the pre-portioned raw, she refused to eat it

Yes it was 27 for the 7 pouches. and they won't touch it......luckily I think my store will take it back. They have a rescue affiliated to them and they give all their returns to the shelter.

I tried the rabbit. Cats didn't eat it. More expensive than the vital essentials. Almost twice.
Their numbers also don't add up in the scheyderweb food calculator for carbs. i had to call in for the ash and taurine. They are negative numbers. i have to look back and see why that occurred.

From reading the scheyderweb intro - the numbers aren't correct or the carbs are very low.
Yes, I agree. I am actually starting to write emails to any cat food maker and ask to change their recipes to get rid of gravy and do broth instead.
Purina was my first email today. and I addressed it as a money maker if they improve their product for the cats.

Phoebe's pmps --fasting 2 hours -- 299. 2.25units given.

You might not get very accurate numbers using the calculator with numbers from the cat food labels since the values there are only ranges (Guaranteed Analysis) and not actual values. Some cat food manufacturers like Weruva publish detailed info on their website for each flavour. Some others, you can write to and ask them for the % calories from carb or % carbs on a dry matter basis.
