Hello,

I thought it's time to give an update from Binie. :cat:

After her long struggle with UTI, the last course of antibiotics, which in ended two month ago, created a small miracle and in her last urine test all three bacteria have been gone. Even the multi-resistant germ, which had just an intermediate sensitivity to the antibiotic. I wrote to the vet that I checked the results three times, if it's really Binies name on it or if they mixed something up. She just wrote back, that she did the same. :)

Unfortunately the situation with these strange growths and open wounds on her chest and now also belly region got worse. We did another test, this time testing the liquid coming out on bacteria. Nothing. We are officially lost. I still hope that, as before, we will have times where it calms down but at the moment it seems not to happen and her bg as well as her overall mood reflects that. She has good and not so good days, where she is very calm and doesn't eat well. Even though she sometimes doesn't eat well, I struggle to keep her weight under control. Her hypothyroidism is also not well controlled.

Her bg-curves changed a lot and she sometimes has her lowest point now at amps or pmps. I start to learn to deal with it but it's also confusing and scary sometimes.

We are still not back on the libre because I am still scared her skin might react on it and we have skin issues enough. I am glad that she is very patient with testing now but especially at night I miss the libre. :arghh:

Safe surf to everyone and a beautiful Tuesday! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Heike, I’m so glad to see an update from you and Binie!

I’m so glad that the UTIs seem to have calmed down for now and it’s wonderful that you are able to test her and not need to use the Libre.

She’s been such a good girl and cooperating so well with you. You’re doing such a great job!:bighug:

I’m sorry you feel the hypothyroidism isn’t under control. I can I relate to that, Of course with Ivy, it’s hyperthyroidism :arghh:

It seems so difficult when they have all of these multi conflicting diseases, So hard to get things where we want them and under some management.
Maybe try to reach out to the IO group again for some guidance.

Those low preshots are very nerve wracking, I agree. You’re doing such a great job caring for your sweet girl!
Sending you both lots of hugs and good wishes for a peaceful night :bighug::cat::kiss::bighug::cat::kiss:

Nice to hear from you Heike
I'm happy to hear the UTI is gone. I feel so bad to hear about the growths and open wounds heve gotten worse. Makes me so sad for her. You are such an amazing Mom taking care of Binie. Sending you lots of hugs and kisses for Binie :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Staci for your always encouraging and kind words! :bighug::bighug::bighug: You are right with the IO group. I will see if they can give guidance without the hemopet test.
Our two complicated, lovable girls. :cat::cat: I hope a solution for Ivys thyroid comes up soon! Both Binie and I are grateful for the hugs and hope you and your girl have a peaceful day! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Thank you so much for your sweet support! I hope you are all well Diane! Yes, these stupid skin (or whatever it really is) issues make me sad too. Last time we have been at the vet she really took her time and we went through everything but there seems to be no solution. On the other hand we can be so grateful this multi-resistant germ in the bladder is gone. Thank you so much for the hugs and Binie enjoyed the kisses!
