It has been quite a while since I've had time to post, and I was happy to see a lot of the kitties doing well. I hope all the humans are hanging in there as well. Jack has been doing his usual "I go up, I go down" nonsense, and with no real rhyme or reason- his pancreas seems to indulge in these loooonng cycles of working better/not working as well. We are back up to 8.5 units, with mixed results. There is just no consistency and/or causality that I can see. Sable goes for his thyroid level recheck this Friday, so once we recuperate from that vet bill I may just bite the financial bullet and get Jack a fructosamine test. Can't hurt, may offer insight into a 'real' BG average, and inform some dose decisions going forward. I thought the amount of testing I do would be sufficient, but with meter variance, and using a human meter, who knows. Mopem was such a different cat- he was OTJ in 9 months; but he did what he was supposed to do. Jack on the other hand, does what he wants. We've been fighting with FDM for 3 years and 3 months now, and even though the numbers are better overall, we are still shooting a lot of insulin. His attitude and activity are great, the (3 year old) "kittens" certainly help with that, so I guess we'll just keep on keeping on. I do plan on showing him @Tim & Pookey's OTJ video later, and pointing out he COULD have his own if he cooperated!!Tagging @Staci & Ivy, @Fistuk & Shelly , and @Diane Tyler's Mom GA since you check in often for updates (which I appreciate). If anyone else wants a tag next time I post, LMK.
Sending love, hugs, safe surfing wishes to all the kitties out there, and hoping the human caretakers know you are always in our thoughts and prayers, even if I don't get to post on the board all that often anymore. I miss you guys

The favorite four season corner...LOL! Edmund on top, William (L) and Butterscotch (R) in the middle and Jack snoozing on the bottom
Jack was un-amused with the being awakened by the photo shoot
