Good early morning (for those of you on the Eastern tine zone). A quick question for the group regarding your nights:
how do you handle checking your kitties BG at night? Do you get up throughout the night to check at specific times, or do it before bedtime and again, upon waking, thereby leaving the 6-8 hours in between unchecked?
and if the latter, how do you know if your kitty is experiencing a crash in the middle of the night? This is the hardest part for me. Between my wife and me we have plenty of coverage during the day as she is retired and I work from home but nighttime is rough. I have been checking before bed at ten, then getting up at 2 am and again at 5 am to check… if that’s what it takes then it is what it is but I was just wondering if sleep deprivation was just part of the deal for the caregiver. Any alternatives y’all have come across?
We use the libre 2 sensor which has an alarm so it’ll go off if her BG goes below 90, which it almost never does, but still. I find myself needing to get up and check anyway.
