We have been pretty sad about losing the community cat we have been feeding outside for months. We were calling him "BOB". DH took it hard since Bob had bitten him badly and he still fed him and petted him...loved him.
I remembered the link in Lisa Pierson's food chart to FixNation, a non-profit clinic in LA that does TNR for free. DH just made a donation in Bob's name and he feels better. So I am going to attempt to link that website here. If I am not successful, you can go to catinfo.org and find it at the top of the food chart.
