5/2 Bella AMPS 96, +7 68, + 9 81, AMPS 81, +2 103

Well, it did not go very well. They kept her. The vet put a muzzle on her and she was so stressed, she was crying, I don't know if it was from pain while they were examining her legs or just from fear. They want to give her gabapentin and do X-Rays, so they kept her for a few hours. I'm crying now, I left her when she was so stressed, i hate it. I hope it all goes well and I'll get her back soon.

H Cecile ,I'm so sorry you and Bella are having such a stressful day.
I would be crying too. She's such a beautiful girl. What a sweet face she has
I hope it's nothing serious going on with her legs.
Please keep us updated, Sending you lots of hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you :bighug:
They said until mid-afternoon, I hope they call soon. They were just going to feed her, she said her blood sugar was probably high now anyway with the stress. I'm so worried.
I think once she hissed at them and they noted her as "violent", so now that's how they see her. She's honestly one of the easiest cats I've had, but she gets stressed. It broke my heart to see her with that muzzle, it covered her whole face, she could not see anything, she was so scared.

H Cecile my heart is breaking for Bella, that's just crazy just because she hissed at them once they noted her as violent. You ate going to make me cry now picturing that muzzle on her . ♥ Please keep us updated , try and calm down a little , I know easier said than done :bighug::bighug:

She just called, Bella is doing well, she did not see any arthritis or maybe just a little but not bad (her words). she ate and I'll go get her in 30 minutes. Poor baby.

She's back. The limping is worse, I guess it's from all the pulling and examining. she's eating now :) She took 2 pounds apparently, back to 13.
She did the fructosamine, finally, she really insisted and wanted to be sure Bella's glucose was not too low. I said yes eventually, even though she agreed that with all the testing I do, we could predict it would be normal.
She wants me to take her down to 3 units. I won't, though.

I'm glad Bella is home, did the vet say what could be causing the limping
What a great cycle today :cat:
She said there was some arthritis but not much, not enough to explain, so she said maybe she pulled it. I think it might be the neuropathy? I'm glad there was nothing bad.
She's been very quiet since she's hme, probably the Gabapentin is still working. I
ll wait until tomorrow to give her more. She prescribed it for a week to see if that helps.

I'm glad it was nothing serious, yes she's probably sleepy from the gaba.
Are you giving her Methyl B-12 for neuropathy?
Yes, I started maybe a month ago, Bhooma told me about it. It helped a lot at first and then she started limping again, and at the same time she was staying away from us and slept a lot, so I was worried. Now I'm a little upset because she was doing so well yesterday, I feel like I should have left her alone :( but at least I'm less worried now. i just hope the really bad limp she has tonight is just due to all the pulling and resisting at the vet today!

It's good you took her. At least you have ruled out everything else and have some clarity/peace of mind. Sorry it was such a traumatic visit.
Why do vets know so little about diabetes?! She has finally broken into good numbers and is making very way down the dosing ladder. Taking her down to 3U will only leave her in higher numbers and risk glucose toxicity.
