@Bandit's Mom @tiffmaxee - he had food at +0 and +2, having some more now at +3.25. He's 56 @ +3.25

DH is probably not going to test, he's not great with animal handling but I'm going to get him upskilled to do this. My work is pretty flexible so if he's not rebounding back up I'll just delay going into the office.
 
Get a +4. If he is flat or higher by then, you might be okay. DH can then just feed him at +5.

ETA: You want to add a meal at +1 to prevent that dive at +2.
 
@Bandit's Mom - I mixed some honey with churu and he licks it straight off my fingers, he got about 3-4 dollops. Not sure how much to give here, don't want to send him high. Let me know if you think more is needed. Will test at +4.5.

So to confirm I understand, the reason he earned a reduction is because he is a new diabetic who dropped below 50, meaning instant reduction of 0.25U?

Yes, with TR a drop below 50 on a human meter is a reduction by 0.25u for newly diagnosed diabetics (less than 1 year since diagnosis).

@tiffmaxee - do you think I have to worry about him going low again before PMPS? When would you recommend testing again?
 
Tested just now thinking it was +10 but we are actually only at +9 lol. He's very active right now and purring. I gave him 1tsp LC because he's acting hungry. He normally has his dinner around now, but we will wait until around +10 for that I think.

I am planning on feeding a meal at +1 tonight as suggested because he seems to drop pretty quickly at +2. So maybe a small bit of food at PM+0 and then a larger meal at +1.

@tiffmaxee @Bandit's Mom - I have been bringing his shots forward 15 mins each time (to eventually get to around 7am/7pm); is it safe to still bring tonight's PM shot forward 15mins?
 
94 at +2, so he dropped 50 points and that was with food at +1

He's fast asleep right now; I was thinking to feed more at +3 and then test at +4 maybe? Then hopefully go to sleep lol :)
 
The higher depot is still at play. The depot takes 4 to adjust after a reduction.
Food at +3 and test at +4 sounds good. Though a test at +3 and +4 will tell you if he has flattened out between +3 and +4.
 
Ah yes, that 1.25 from this morning is still in play, that makes sense. Agree about the +3 test. His poor little ears.

His ears are fine, I just feel bad about poking him. I've always aimed for the sweet spot but early on I did accidentally hit the marginal vein a couple of times and he bruised. He's healed up from that now though. I also still occasionally mess up and go right through. :(

He's 83 @ +3 and has eaten some food. Will test again at +4
