Good evening,

we still have ups and downs in Binies mood but I feel she improved a little. Let's see, what the vet says tomorrow. She will treat the wound again and put on a new libre. With her numbers I feel we are moving in the right direction. The average bg went down and there are more cycles with blue numbers. I will keep you updated!

Safe surfing today for all your kittys! :cat::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, love seeing the blues for Binie.
Wishing you good luck with the vet tomorrow. I hope it goes well and that Binie is not too stressed.
Wishing you a very restful night ahead :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you @Staci & Ivy and @Deb and Tiger for the good wishes! Unfortunately Binie is quite fed up at the moment going to the vet. She started hissing even before the vet tried to open the box. Thank god they don't get nervous and are still very kind with her. So it didn't escalate. We have to go again on monday to treat the wound, I'm really not happy about that. :(

Ugh. I’m sorry she didn’t cooperate. Do you sedate her at all before you take her?
I have to do that for every appointment with Ivy and she’s still very feisty :(

Before we went to this vet, some other vets (we tried a lot of vets...) asked us to use gabapentine or they wouldn't treat us. And even then it was horrible for everyone and they had to put Binie in strange leather jackets and cages for the examination. I remember for the first blood work she got general anesthetics because it didn't work without. Our vet since many years now treats her without sedation. They just wrap her in a blanket with feliway. If she hisses they take their time to talk to her and they never use force or violence. I am so super grateful for that. They just treat cats and have cats at home as well. Still Binie doesn't like it but I think she understands, that her life is not threatened. When the examination is finished she always gets a treat. :cat: Usually she doesn't take it from the vet but she drops it in the box and Binie eats it on the way home. Maybe a blanket with feliway would help Ivy as well? And your new vet and stuff sound quite nice. Maybe it will get easier? If it is possible for Binie, I am sure there is also hope for Ivy! I know how stressful going to the vet must be for Ivy and for you. I keep my fingers crossed, she has a fresh start with the new vet. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m very glad you are able to do it without sedation. That’s so great.

Unfortunately for us, Ivy is terrible and I can’t risk her injuring any staff or they won’t treat her. So I don’t even fight it. She needs the gabapentin to help chill her out.
Feliway does nothing for her. I do spray her crate and blanket ahead of time before she gets in it though.
She must be scared and she just lashes out. She’s been like this since she was very young.
Oh well.
I appreciate you sharing your experience with us though. It’s always good to revisit these ideas again :bighug::bighug:
