7/18 Ruby AMPS 237/+4 236/PMPS 186/+2 71/+3 76

Happy to hear Ruby is starting off with a good day. Thanks again for your post to Cali last night about food. I noticed on your SS Ruby also has a bit of hip issue. My girl had a missed jump onto the counter last December and now has a pronounced limp, but not neuropathy. Vet gave RX for Buprenorphine 0.1mg as needed. Because it is opioid, I give half (0.005ml) when her pain shows through grumpiness and very little mobility. Vet never x-rayed (height of Covid lockdown in California) but his specialty is surgery so I am sure he would propose hip replacement. I have also considered Previcox (my horses thrive on it), Methylcobal vitamin B-12, or CBD. INTERESTED in your and others’ thoughts/input/experience on issues of feline hip joint trauma/chronic pain.

Morning Katherine, those greens last night made me happy,
Her AMPS is not that bad and I bet you that you will see some blue and green today, don't make a liar out of me now Ruby :p
So happy to hear she's eating well and you found a poop in the LB
I hope you have a good day Katherine ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Carla, for sharing your experience with Cali, poor girl. I gave Ruby some hyaluronic acid drops for a month and give her Krill oil a few times a week in her food and it seems that the cracking noises I heard from her hips and shoulders went away. She jumps and walks up and down stairs fine, but it was the noises that gave me some worry. She never really needed bupe though I have it on hand. Sounds like Cali had some trauma, so bupe is a good idea for when she seems to be having difficulty. Thanks for stopping by, hope the Weruva food info helps! :bighug:

Hi Carla, I am also in California and have a kitty that walks funny favoring her right hip. We had X-rays done and her doctor said she might need the hip ball joint replaced, I know I am saying this wrong. He sent her X-rays to an orthopedic surgeon who said she only has mild arthritis and needs to see a neurologist, feels it is more neurological than bones and joints. She is on Bupe for pain and we have steps for her all over the house. She can still and will jump but is extremely cautious getting down. She gauges every jump she makes. For her, neurological makes sense, she has had these paw and neck twitches, the paw just slams down on the floor, sorry, hard to explain. It is painful to watch her walk. Rarely runs or plays. I find the Bupe sometimes changes her. I was giving it every 12 hours and changed to every 24 as needed (as if she can tell me her pain level ). I just thought I would share this with you even though it sounds like your kitty may have an injury. It seemed with Dolly the painful looking gait came out of nowhere. Her spine is also crooked. And she sort is sways back and forth as she walks. We are seeing a neurologist in August. Good luck to you and Cali. :)

Hear that, Rubes? :cat: Orders from Auntie Diane to get to that beach today! :p Just tested her again and she's pretty flat so there's a good possibility that Ruby will listen I think. :) :bighug:
Happy Sunday Katherine. I apologize for putting my response to Carla on your thread. I am not quite awake, up so late again with Dolly and got up early for her insulin Took a nap, never do that, now I am in la la land. When I saw Carla’s response to you I wanted to share about Dolly and her problems with painful walking and hip issues. Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday. So happy for the greens last night. Big hugs to all. :bighug::bighug:

Hey, Ruby. Mama has to go to work tomorrow! She needs sleep!
Yeah, Rubes! (as tho she will actually listen ) Happy to see her surfing in some better numbers though, but I must get better at managing the steep drops to prevent bouncing. I’d like to see those AMPS numbers come down to some healthier blues.

Oops. What did I do to get Cali’s avatar on corner of Ruby’s. That’s what happens when I get near technology. Sorry
