7/19 Henry C, AMPS=229, +6=203 Libre Died

Libre died just as i was going to bed at 12 am last night which is +5. All was well, Henry was sleeping, sensor was not detached, it was scanning perfectly well and just like that boom, replace sensor - after only 7 days. Requested a free replacement. Having another one placed saturday. The strange part is that it was not detached, he had it covered with a onesie so it must have been a dud. apparently 40% of sensors fail. Henry hated it but i loved it because i managed to get more than 4-5 hrs sleep for the past week. last night at 1 am I was removing the sensor and taking BG with ear poke. This time the vet did not put any glue after I insisted she did not, but wonder if that also led to sensor crossing to heaven earlier. His skin is much less irritated though, so having mixed feelings.

This is Henry satisfied with his sensor being removed, he can finally relax look at this face. Precious :)

I have only used the Libre a few times, but have had about half fail. So frustrating. I can't figure out any rhyme or reason. At least they will replace them, but it's a pain in the neck for sure.

Most of mine did not fail so not sure what to say. but only recently moved to Libre 2 for the alarms. Almost want to conclude the 14 days (original libre) are better but who knows. they sure pick the wrong time to fail though. I wish they come with ones that last 6 months or a year and they are implanted and not painful. i think they already have some for humans. i would pay a fortune not to have to go through all of this ear poking or libre drama. lol
