Roger is a 14 yr old cat with no previous health issues. Diagnosed with diabetes 2 wks ago. He is on 2U PZI BID. His evening BG numbers are sometimes in the 60's. I freaked out tonight and gave him some honey then read the hypo tip list and gave him food. It was Hill's A/D which I knew he'd eat. His appetite has really decrease and my 18 lb big boy is now 11 lbs. How do you keep the evening numbers in a good range? He free feeds mostly on EVO canned.

    Hi and welcome,

The 60's are getting down there, what are his #'s otherwise. Since this group is global and with time differences we use AMPS (am pre shot) and PMPS (pm pre shot) and +1 would be 1 hour after the insulin injection.

So if you could post your bg numbers as

    +2 146
    +4 126

etc. people will be able to give more accurate advise.

Thanks. Roger's AMPS are usually between 250-360 so it's more predictable than his PMPS
