Update for Friday evening our time in Aus.
They rang and asked Patty to come in for the day today as Tucker had a "rough" morning and he does much better when Patty is there. She tried feeding him again today......if he didn't eat they were going to put the feeding tube in. However he did eat some so they are going to stay with no feeding tube at the moment and reassess tonight.
Patty rang me a couple of hours ago...I was out at dinner and it was very noisy and it was hard to hear.
She said some of the blood tests had come back and they had improved....not sure which ones though.
The vets cant believe he has done so well after seeing the ultrasound yesterday.
They are going to try and take him off the insulin infusion this evening and give him a shot of insulin instead and see if he copes with that. Patty said he had 4 drips in his arm...she wasn't sure what they were all for but she said they are going to try and take three of them out and see if he copes. (Plus I was having trouble hearing some of what she said with all the background noise)
She told the vets they were looking after a famous cat....that there were people from all over the world sending prayers and love etc. they were very interested and one of the vets said he had seen the forum site and said it was excellent.

Another cat has been moved into the room next to Tucker and it is very vocal and stressing Tucker.
Patty said he is also trying to escape! And has worked out how to open the door so they are having to lock him in!
They are saying if they can get him stable without the drips etc they might be able to send him home sometime soon as he would be better there.....nothing definite yet and it will depend how he goes with the drips coming out etc. They said there was a chance he could go backwards when they took out the drips so fingers and paws crossed. They have done a wonderful job helping him.
Overall, things seem to be moving in the right direction and he's in a much better place than 2 days ago.

Thank you for the videos! Tucker is SO sweet. We've been in this situation twice with T :( & it is SO hard, but boy do you find out just how resilient they are! Thankfully, they don't have to take in any of the negative info by some providers like humans do. I'm sorry you had to deal with that :(! Keep the hope, faith & love going! My thoughts & prayers continue to be sent your way.

I'm praying that Tucker does well when some of the drips are taken out and given the insulin shot that he does well, he has to make it through this because he has fought so hard already, Tucker wants his mama there with him, that precious boy.

Thanks for the update. I'm sure they thought of this, but if Tucker could have a radio or some music playing constantly maybe it would help in terms of the vocal cat next door.
I think when all this is behind Tucker, Patty should tell the vets at the specialist hospital how to find this thread.
So, wonderful vets, if you are reading this, you know it's true! People all over the world are praising you and thanking you for your wonderful work! You have the gratitude of international Team Tucker!
Continued love, vines and support for Tuck, Patty and everyone helping Tucker -- including the vet doctors, nurses, @Bron and Sheba
and @JeffJ and all of Team Tucker!

OMG I'm just catching up. Patty you have been through the wringer. Hope you are taking care of yourself through all this. Tucker is a trooper and apparently a fighter. I so glad to hear he is improving. Pancreatitis is such a horrible illness to deal with.

Something to think and ask the vet to do. When Tucker is discharged ask for script for the pain medication and other support meds to be an ongoing permanent one. If the pancreas is that angry and enlarged Tucker might need it for quite sometime. Ollie gets pain med daily now for life. Every time we try to decrease it she goes into a flare. Maintenance dose is fine for daily use.

@Bron and Sheba thank you for being there for them and keeping us updated.

Sending mega vines and prayers form our household to yours.

Falling asleep in his little cave. They had to put him in a cage because he worked out the doorknob in his suite. He ate a whole can of FF once I got there but his BG had shot way up when they took him off the infusion. As I was leaving they dimmed the lights and had his radio set to some easy listening station... I snuck out of the room as he fell asleep. ...wait for it...

It's 2am here and I'm just back from the hospital. We will find out how his levels settle without iv support in about 9 hours. They think he should stay in so that they can monitor him and give the fluids, pain relief and insulin so that they are doing the hard work for his body while it just held BUT he won't eat unless I'm there with him. So they are weighing up the benefits between keeping him in and sending him home with nursing visits.

tough decision and he does need to eat. Patty get some rest and see what it looks like in 9 hours. Very best wishes, hopes, healing everythings. Please take care of yourself going through all this, because you get to be chief nurse in charge when he comes home. How on earth did he figure out how to open that door? What a cat! No wonder we all love him so much.

I've not had a chance to scroll through all of your messages yet, to be honest (after the first vet told me to "prepare"), I was afraid to be too hopeful. I would try to put up an update, see Tucker's face on the profile and fall apart...so I've been relying on Bron to post for me.
I know there is this amazing community that is supporting us and praying for Tucky, and the beautiful Bron has kept me updated. I love Team Tucker! Who would have thought Bron would take my kitty viral?! Your warm thoughts, kind words and endless positivity are felt on the other side of the world - I swear you've lifted Tucker up. I stood in the hospital with 2 feline specialists today and they were telling me his rate of recovery has them scratching theirs heads. They told me "We didn't want to say this yesterday but his scan looked BAD...like the worst we've seen. Today he was standing on his back legs trying to pull a door handle down to escape his suite. They said he is defying odds. Who would have thought?
So here's what I'm thinking now : I'm absolutely terrified for him to come home! What if I miss something or the pancreatitis flares up again on my watch and I lose him?? He is meant to get lots of fluids but if they don't send him home with an iv, how will I know he's getting enough?? What if I mess up after all of this hard work? It's an invisible disease and I don't know if I'm going to be capable enough to pull him through.
Anyway, I'm running on a few hours sleep so I'll stop babbling! From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you!!! Xx Patty

Hugs! I am glad to see Tucker improving, thank you @Bron and Sheba for all the updates! Patty, I agree with a comment above, get some rest while he is in hospital, so you can nurse when he is home.

As for the fear/anxiety that you won’t be able to care for him at home “right”..... you know Team Tucker is already here to help and support you. I believe you can do this. All of us have cared for emergencies and illness with our babies and we pull through and do what needs to be done. You’ve got this!!! Tucker will be so glad to have you as his nurse. :)

Glad to learn that Buddy is coming home and that Tucker is responding "positively" to his treatment.

Prayers, thoughts and lots of love are being sent to all.

Please, both of you, recover soon as all your mama's are waiting for you with open arms and can't wait to hold you and cuddle with you:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
