Chispa's nadirs have moved from +3 to +5-6 over the last few months, not sure why. Yesterday she was sailing steadily in the mid-blues and I wondered if I should consider an increase, but now she is at 45, so I guess not!! She is THREE days away from her 1-year anniversary, so should I take a reduction or not?

Ordinarily I would have given her some MC to perk her up after the 67 at +2, but I stuck with the LC and was surprised to see the 45 (she wasn't even meowing). I gave her a couple teaspoons of 13% just now, but I have to admit that it's unclear to me whether the goal is to keep her above a certain number or to keep on with the LC and see what happens, intervening only if she goes into hypo territory (and is that now?).

I'll keep on with the 13% until I hear otherwise.

Thanks!

The goal is to keep her in as much green as possible. That means feeding what you need to keep her safely at a dose, and avoiding reductions unless well earned. Note, anything below 40, a reduction is strongly recommended, regardless of circumstances.

Once she hits a year since diagnosis, the reduction criteria are once under 40, or a week in mostly green. If you think she doesn’t hold reductions well, regardless of diagnosis date, you can move to three times between 40 and 49 on separate days. Given that her high point this year was 4 units, and now she’s down at 2.75 units, looks like she is holding her reductions.

This is very helpful. Thanks so much, @Wendy&Neko .:bighug::cat:
