Good morning Joy! Just checking in and I had no idea Peggy Sue was going through so much! I'm so glad she got the chemo yesterday and I hope she's doing okay so far today. Sending vines that the chemo shrinks that tumor quickly! Do you have an appointment for the next chemo session or will you need to wait like you did yesterday? I'm glad Ravan's holding steady for you during all this. Sending vines of comfort and strength to you and healing vines to Peggy Sue!
Ravan is doing good I'm keeping his BG a bit higher because he seems to feel better when It doesn't dip into the 50's
Peggy Sue is doing Great! I have no doubt all your love, vines / kind wishes & support has made the difference.
She wouldn't eat or even drink last night. I checked on her several times during the night & offered her every kind of food & liquid I had. She wouldn't even take a lick. I did manage to get 3 drops of CBD Oil in her mouth at 2AM. ( this is the only "meds" she has received )
It makes me sad that she's hiding from me & everytime I even go near her she tries to get away. She stayed in her "cave" ( A blanket draped over her chair down in the rec room. ) all night.
This morning I opened the patio door to let Ravan & Alice out & Peggy Sue came out also! I had raw meat in only 2 plates & baby food for Peggy Sue. To my surprise she went to Ravan's dish & ate the Raw meat!! About a tablespoon of it.
( Ravan "graciously" stepped back & let her eat his food ) She laid in the sun for a while then came in & went to sleep downstairs. The Tech from the vet called & they are all amazed that she ate so good this morning! ( a small miracle?)
Now I'm concerned how am I going to put her thru this again 3 more times? She doesn't trust me now & I sure don't want to totally destroy my relationship with my little girl.
More prayers & positive thoughts for her PLEASE! (I'm watching for the tumor to shrink!!)
I'm so glad that Peggy Sue was able to get the chemo yesterday! Sounds like a horribly long day for you but I totally understand why you would want to be with her. How is she doing today?
Nice start for Ravan today and I'm glad he stayed safe for you yesterday.
ETA: I posted this just as you posted your update!
Yes, I do have an appointment But there are times when he's super busy ( emergency cases) & I have waited over an hour, but that's sure better than 5 hours!!
I'm so worried that my relationship with my Peggy Sue is going to be destroyed from these very traumatic Chemo treatments. She's 17 yrs old & I don't know how she can go thru being anesthetized every week, 4 or more times?
Even though she's been eating good all along she's very thin & I'm sure these treatments are taking a toll on her tiny body
Thank you for checking on us & your support!
I'm glad Peggy Sue is eating today and went outside. I know it's difficult when they hide. Maybe try making her come out and start loving on her and don't let her leave until she calms down. I've had to do that with some of my cats before when they run from me having to give them medicine. Sending prayers.
Ravan is looking good.
I’m glad you were able to find the chemo treatment! I still don’t even know if my Alice will need it or if we got everything out in surgery.
I worry sometimes that my relationship with Alice, or rather her relationship with me, may have changed..... but then I know she wouldn’t be seeing a new day every day or eating that food or taking that nap or enjoying that sunbeam..... if I didn’t put her through some rough things to make her better.
This is parenting, and parenting is hard sometimes. It’s just wonderful to me that Peggy Sue is getting help she needs.
Your sweet little Alice is only 13, 4 years younger than My Peggy Sue. 3 of Peggy Sue's siblings have already died 4-5 yrs ago. Ravan & Peggy Sue are the 2 left from a litter of 5.
I'm a big believer that "stress" can cause a fast downhill drop in their condition. If it was only one surgery to remove the Cancer I'd be a lot happier. But they recommend at least 3 more a week apart & if that doesn't work even more Chemo shots under sedation.
How much can she handle at 17 yrs old? Each time they sedate her I'm so scared she won't wake up! I'm going to see how she does over the next few days. I might tell the vet to do this every 2 weeks to give her a chance to recuperate before they do it again.
Thank you for your support & good wishes!
That does NOT work with Peggy Sue. She wants to go & hide so I let her. This morning after she went outside & ate a bit I tried picking her up & she panicked (probably thought I was going to put her in the carrier & go to the vet again!)
I let her go into the house & she made a B line to her "cave" to hide. She did come out briefly & let me pet her, but she's taking her time to trust me again. What will happen when I have to take her 3 more times to go thru this Chemo????
I just hope everyone keeps sending prayers & healing energy her way. Once the tumor shrinks I will be so relieved & so will she
One day at a time sweet Peggy Sue. Awww, I didn't know Ravan was Peggy Sue's brother. Oh my, the stress you have been through with Peggy Sue. I pray she keeps improving and starts to come to you again - that's sad, but understandable from a cat's point of view. She stole food - that's great!
It is great that Ravan has been so cooperative, that's a big plus indeed. Best of wishes JoyBee
I hope Peggy Sue will not want to hide as much soon. Keeping you and her in my prayers.
Sending you strong healing vines, soothing energies for Peggy Sue to relax and 'forget' about the vetty adventure. I know they don't like to go to the vet and it's stressful...but being home around familiar places and able to relax will help her forget about it...just be yourself and there for her when she's ready for love and attention...she'll come back around. Try not to agonize over next time....and let's hope the healing has already begun. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. So glad to see Ravan is being good and is nice to his sister - allowing her to have his food - now that's stepping up! What a sweetie he is
Take care and get some rest.
Sue said it all for me !!
Peggy Sue loves you! When she'll start feeling better, she'll associate all this to her well-being and then be more confident! Give her a little time and she'll come back to you !!
She feels how stressed you are and for sure, this must make her feel anxious!
Now it might be time for your yoga! Do it for both of you !!
Relax and just welcome all the prayers and positive vines coming for little Peggy Sue!
Great that Peggy Sue ate! I’m sure in a day or so she’ll be back to herself. She loves you and knows you love her. She just needs a little time to get over yesterday.
Peggy Sue is eating really good! AND! She came & layed in my lap for a long time while I told her how much I love her She's in a good mood tonight! So I am too
I'm thinking of postponing the next treatment for 2 weeks to give her a good chance to recuperate & heal up a bit. ( they told me he also pulled a back molar. They were really amazed she ate raw meat, thought she'd be on soft baby food for a while. )
She had many injections of the chemo in purified sesame oil. Vet said it was difficult to squirt the solution out because it's thick. Her chin & neck are so full of the chemo she looks all swollen. I don't even understand how she's not in a lot of pain from all the injections & a molar pulled?
All she's had is 3 drops of CBD Oil at 2:30 this morning.I'll see if she lets me give her some tonight. She acting really peppy tonight She was laying next to Ravan snuggling with him like she used to. So far she ate 4 times tonight! At least a tablespoon each time.
It's so difficult to think of her going thru this 3 more times.

Once again I'm so grateful for all the love & support for her from all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I am glad to see she is feeling more chipper this evening!!! It’s really hard to watch them suffer. It breaks my heart every time. I hope she rebounds swiftly and well!
Do Ravan and Peggy Sue bond well? Alice and I had her brother for 7 years before he passed and I loved watching them together!
This is such a beautiful thing to be reading. Happy tears rolling down my face.
I hope everybody at your house has a great night of sleep, without worries
Look how everyone knew she would need you, in her sweet time.
I also want to know. Tina also had a brother and they were very tight, so I can imagine Peggy Sue loving her brother, right
I see they were snuggling, meow!
Littermates are so precious. Her brother was the only cat Alice ever liked! Also I need to say I love Tina’s face. I just love her face.
She caught my attention on-line quickly. Look into her eyes . . . She loves your face too! Her brother looked like Ming, in the face. I love pretty little Alice; she has the best name! Alice Meowliss is fantastic!
If JoyBee wants to post a pic of her kitty siblings, that would be so fun
So nice to hear! Enjoy a good night sleep with your little girl !
