Still here, surviving (barely).

The boring part, negative as usual, please genuinely do feel free to skip this. I know it's always something with me (trust me, I know ) But in explanation: I mostly can't eat and am in constant pain that only stops when I sleep, but I can only get a couple of hours of sleep/night, if that. His numbers have still been pretty good, but despite a couple of reductions it's been a struggle to keep him in the 50s and I've wound up with lime pre-shots that made me skip (or that I had to skip because I was just too exhausted to handle it). Fully realize his doses have been wonky but I've done my best making decisions when I probably can't get advice in time combined with my exhaustion and general idea of how he's been doing. He's almost fully switched over to Weruva and he likes it but has decided to start playing games in terms of not eating specifically the meals that are important/time sensitive, like: his gaba 2 hours before pre-shot; snacks to keep him steady; any MC/HC to bring him up. Just refuses. Some nights I sit with him for hours waiting for him to decide to eat a single tsp of food. I give him snacks to prevent the drop overnight but either he won't eat them, or the drop happens so late that there's not much I can do. He doesn't seem sick or anything, he's otherwise normal, it's genuinely like he's just being difficult because he knows I want him to eat it. A lot of the time he'll go back once I give up, but by then it's too late. Sometimes it's entire larger meals (if I give ONLY small meals too rapidly he won't eat it either), and in those cases we're so far behind on calories for the day that it's impossible to catch up. Also being difficult about injections again; I have to catch him and hold him down. So... everything's basically awful. But I'm here.

Replying to some comments I read but wasn't able to get back to from my last post on the .org forum (sorry)

Congrats! Also great news on finding a successful food!

I also have a Xander who is a pain to get to eat. While he doesn't completely stop eating, he does randomly start eating less some days forcing me to open cans until he likes a flavor for that day. Thinking about trying something outside of Fancy Feast...
Yes! It's like there's just this decision of "I'm gonna be difficult today." Why? This even happens with food he's enthusiastic about. So sorry you can relate because it's unbearably frustrating.

Wow, what a day you and Xander had, Brianna!! So many limes ‍

Hoping today is calmer for both of you! But his spreadsheet is looking sooo good!!
You’re doing an amazing job, despite all of the challenges! I’m so proud of you

Safe surfing Caturday
I didn't respond to it at the time but I want you to know I saved a screenshot of this comment because it made me so happy to see. Thank you, Staci.

Wooohoo! Way to go Brianna & Xander!

Good he likes the new food! Egon is loving the Check Please Pate!

Thanks, Mady! So glad to hear that Egon is liking his new food too! Not sure yet if we're gonna bother incorporating more flavors or just stick with this one.

Sorry to hear Xander is being such a jerk (cat!) about his food. That has got to be the most stressful part of FD. In spite of it all, you are doing an excellent job with him.

Welcome back over at .com.
